AEW Revolution 2025 Spoilers |
Trios Match: "Big Boom!" A.J. (with Big Justice) and The Conglomeration (Orange Cassidy and Mark Briscoe) vs. Johnny TV and MxM Collection (Mansoor and Mason Madden)
Why is this happening again? I know that the answer is "because this guy's popular, so AEW wants to get some mainstream media coverage." But why is his whole act popular to begin with? What's charming or funny or interesting about them? I don't get it. Why are we living in Idiocracy? I hate this planet.
At least the other people in this are entertaining and will put on a good show.
PREDICTION: This is a double chunk of who gives a shit.
AEW TBS Championship Match: Mercedes Moné (c) vs. Momo Watanabe
Another match in the series of "Mercedes wants to fight people at random with relatively no build, because she just thinks that she'll have a classic match with them." She'll win. Watanabe isn't holding the TBS title. Frankly, I'll probably skip it or pay very little attention to it, as nothing Mone's done in AEW has made me feel like it was truly worth my time.
PREDICTION: Mercedes Mone retains.
MJF vs. "Hangman" Adam Page
So Page retires Christopher Daniels out of his anger over Swerve Strickland and Death Riders, and MJF feuds with Jeff Jarrett and by proxy, Dustin Rhodes, and that leads to a match between Page and MJF? Huh?
This feels like Tony Khan either has too many plates he's spinning, or plans keep changing. In any fashion, while these are the two main characters overall in AEW, and they're great in their own ways, meaning this match should be rock solid in and of itself, I can't say that I'm just bursting at the seams over this storyline.
PREDICTION: MJF wins by crook, not by hook.
Steel Cage Match: Will Ospreay vs. Kyle Fletcher
Could this finally be an example of a steel cage actually keeping out people? I'd love to see that happen, where nobody from The Don Callis Family gets involved at all, and Ospreay just wins this feud. Granted, I'd be okay with Fletcher having a 2-1 record against Ospreay instead, as at least that would help propel him even further up the ladder, so it's kind of a win-win scenario no matter what happens. I'm also sure this will be one of the best matches of the night.
PREDICTION: Will Ospreay wins.
AEW International Championship Match: Konosuke Takeshita (c) vs. Kenny Omega
Technically, this is still up in the air who fights Kenny Omega, but it's pretty obviously going to be Konosuke Takeshita, not Orange Cassidy, so I'm just cutting to the chase.
If Omega can go, there's no reason why this match isn't great. I expect it to go on before the Ospreay/Fletcher match and to involve some interference from The Don Callis Family that will ultimately cost Omega the victory.
PREDICTION: Konosuke Takeshita wins.
Singles Match for the AEW Women's World Championship: "Timeless" Toni Storm (c) vs. Mariah May
For 3 years now, the women's division has been on rinse and repeat mode. Toni Storm, Mariah May, and then like 4 other women who just keep cycling through each other. I'm so beyond tired of it. This Storm/May feud is not as complex as AEW thinks it is. It isn't some riveting multi-layered story. It's JUST the standard "I'm your friend, then you turn on me, and then, I get my revenge" tale, with months and months of stalling. I'm convinced people think it's amazing just because Storm's character is different from anyone else in wrestling right now and they have the "different = awesome" approach.
PREDICTION: Toni Storm wins and hopefully, 12 new women flock to this division and liven things up for once.
Singles Match to determine the #1 contender to the AEW World Championship: Swerve Strickland vs. Ricochet
It's so much better that this is a No. 1 contender's match. That instantly upgrades its purpose. As I'm assuming Jon Moxley retains his title, it makes more sense to me for Swerve to get the win here, get the robe back for Prince Nana, and then fail to beat Moxley in the future at Dynasty or something.
PREDICTION: Swerve Strickland wins.
Tag Team Match for the AEW World Tag Team Championship: The Hurt Syndicate (Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin) (c) (with MVP) vs. The Outrunners (Turbo Floyd and Truth Magnum)
The Outrunners are popular for underdogs, but they're not winning here. The Hurt Syndicate is too fresh as champions and too powerful of a team to lose to the comedic guys.
PREDICTION: The Hurt Syndicate wins.
AEW World Championship Match: Jon Moxley (c) vs. Cope
Can this Death Riders thing end already? No? Well, then, I guess Moxley beats Cope and we just continue to slog along with this until the end of time.
PREDICTION: Jon Moxley wins.
