Logan Paul is a superstar in every sense of the word, and of that, there is no doubt. Whether it's in WWE, on social media, or even in the boxing ring, the Maverick can certainly do it all.
Since taking to professional wrestling, the Ohio native has wowed fans with his natural ability and is far better than a relative novice should be. He stole the show in just his third professional match as he very nearly wrestled the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship away from Roman Reigns. A year later, he claimed the United States Championship with a victory against Rey Mysterio at Crown Jewel.
Paul held the strap for almost a full calendar year, but unfortunately for him, his reign is now over after losing to LA Knight at SummerSlam, in his hometown no less. Now, attention turns to what's next. Where does Logan Paul go from here?
A Rematch with LA Knight
First things first, there's no guarantee that the 29-year-old will immediately return to the ring. His Prime Energy business has just been rocked with a $68m lawsuit while fiance Nina Agdal is due to give birth this fall. Plus, Paul has stepped foot in the boxing ring on numerous occasions - just like his younger brother Jake - and it wouldn't be surprising to see him return to the squared circle.
Last October, online boxing betting odds made the Maverick a short-priced -500 betting favorite for his Misfits boxing clash against Dillon Danis, and he duly lived up to the billing. Paul battered his MMA-fighting opponent from pillar to post before eventually winning via disqualification. Further clashes in the sport are expected, but surely his sights must be set on further climbing the ranks in the WWE.If he does do exactly that, then surely he will continue feuding with LA Knight. The former TNA star is one of the hottest commodities in WWE at present, and every time the new champ has been positioned opposite Paul, the pair have provided blockbuster TV. Be it Knight laying the verbal smackdown on the social media mogul last summer, invading his Puerto Rican home, or stealing his opponent's Prime-branded pickup truck, the duo have certainly been as entertaining as anyone when feuding against each other.
A rematch between the two would make sense. Logan's US title reign was one of the longest in recent times and an immediate rematch is surely deserved.
Challenge Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship
Another intriguing scenario would see Logan Paul setting his sights on the World Heavyweight Championship, currently held by the imposing Gunther. The Ring General recently secured his maiden world championship with an impressive victory against former champ Damian Priest, albeit with an assist from Finn Balor. The Austrian will head into the upcoming Bash in Berlin Premium Live Event as a homecoming hero despite being a heel.
His opponent for that clash will be WWE’s resident Apex Predator Randy Orton, which will make for a strange atmosphere for fans in attendance. It’s very rare that the 15-time world champion and legend ever gets booed, but it’s hard to imagine Gunther receiving anything but a hero’s welcome.
If Gunther being cheered as champion - providing he retains against Orton - is something that WWE brass wants, then perhaps positioning him against a heat magnet in Logan Paul is the best way to go about it. Heel vs heel matches are somewhat uncommon in modern times, but Gunther will be the face in this feud, and the Maverick could be the perfect foil for him to shine in front of his adoring public.
Challenging Gunther would be a high-risk, high-reward move for Paul. A victory would catapult him into the upper echelons of WWE, legitimizing his wrestling career and silencing critics who view him as a mere celebrity interloper. However, a loss could be equally as impactful but for all the wrong reasons.
The brash American has lost the majority of his matches in the WWE, including his last two on the spin against Cody Rhodes and LA Knight. Another defeat to Gunther could be the last thing he needs.
Eliminating John Cena from the Royal Rumble
Considering the list of reasons we mentioned earlier, there's a good chance that we won't see Logan Paul in a WWE ring for quite some time. Should he choose to take some time off, then he may well return in January's Royal Rumble match. And if that is the case, what better way to generate nuclear heat than by having him eliminate the GOAT, John Cena?
The 16-time world champion announced earlier this year that 2025 would be his last year as an in-ring competitor in the WWE, meaning that the upcoming Royal Rumble will also be his last. Having the Maverick eliminate a legend like Cena would be a career-defining moment for Paul. It would instantly elevate his status within WWE, painting him as a legitimate threat and a future main-eventer. This could also set the stage for a blockbuster showdown between Paul and Cena at WrestleMania, a match that would undoubtedly be a box-office hit.
For Cena, being eliminated by Logan Paul could serve as a passing of the torch moment. As the man you can't see transitions away from the ring, a feud between the two would help Paul into an even bigger star while simultaneously giving him the rub he needs to climb the WWE ladder. He would become perhaps the company's biggest heel overnight, setting him on the path towards his maiden world championship reign to take place some point next year.
