If you missed out on the action for AEW Double or Nothing this weekend in Las Vegas, you're in luck because right around the corner, NXT Battleground comes to the UFC Apex on June 9, 2024.
Tickets are on sale at AXS.com with NXT Battleground Priority Passes available from On Location. Those special passes include "premium seating, pre-show hospitality with WWE Superstar appearances, ringside photo opportunities, and much more."
As a reminder, here is some more information on what NXT Battleground has in store.
General Information
This is the first ever WWE event to be hosted at the state-of-the-art, 130,000-square-foot event and production facility, which is home to select UFC Fight Night events, Dana White's Contender Series and more.
WWE's most recent informational post states that NXT Battleground will start at 4:30 p.m. PT and will stream live in the U.S. exclusively on Peacock beginning at 7 p.m. ET. However, there will assuredly be a pre-show of some kind, whether it is referred to as a kickoff or "Countdown to NXT Battleground" (as WWE is still in flux of what they choose to do for these premium live events as of late.) That start time is still unknown, but is typically either an hour or at least 30 minutes prior to the start of the show. Therefore, we can assume 7 p.m. may be the start of the pre-show with the card itself beginning at 7:30 ET, though there's a chance WWE has some typos and this pre-show actually begins at 6 or 6:30 ET. Smark Out Moment will update you with clarification once more information comes out.
Current Match Card
The following matches are currently advertised for this show, with the card subject to change (as well as some elements of this specifically still being up in the air).
- Six-Woman Ladder Match to crown the first-ever NXT Women's North American Champion: Fallon Henley vs. Jaida Parker vs. Lash Legend vs. Sol Ruca vs. TBD 1 vs. TBD 2
- Triple Threat Match for the NXT North American Championship: Oba Femi (c) vs. Joe Coffey vs. Wes Lee
- NXT Underground Match: Lola Vice vs. Shayna Baszler
What Else Could Be Added to the Lineup?
As the NXT Battleground predictions page currently says (and is frequently updated with), we know the four women who will be competing to determine who gets those final two spots in the ladder match. Kelani Jordan will face Wren Sinclair and SmackDown's Michin will face Tatum Paxley.
A No. 1 contender for Roxanne Perez's NXT Women's Championship has yet to be established. Is that because WWE doesn't have someone in mind yet and are still trying to figure it out, or is it because there's a surprise in the works and WWE merely wants to wait until a little closer to the event to avoid needing to put someone on the show a few more weeks in advance?
It could be something as simple as Wendy Choo making her return and immediately being thrust into this role, just to give Perez someone to beat and to have Choo's comeback be the momentum to justify her getting a title shot—as she certainly wouldn't deserve it based on any recent win-loss records or storyline purposes.

But it could also mean someone like Karmen Petrovic, Gigi Dolin or a main roster talent like Natalya could be put in this role. As long as they're not booked for the show already like those in the ladder match, they should be considered up for grabs, even though most women in NXT right now are heels who aren't likely to be competing in this match, like Arianna Grace or the injured Jacy Jayne.
Noticeably absent from the card right now is also the NXT Championship, although it seems rather obvious Trick Williams will be defending against Meta-Four's Noam Dar. Williams has been involved in a feud with that faction for the past few weeks with Dar getting the better of him at different turns. No one else has been even hinted at as a potential challenger for Williams, and a win over Dar is something simple to give Trick an easy start to his title reign.
The NXT Tag Team Championship is also not currently scheduled, but several tag teams are in the running to face The Supersonic Duo. Axiom and Nathan Frazer recently retained their titles over The D'Angelo Family on NXT, only to be attacked by The Good Brothers of The O.C. (Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows) while Luca Crusifino and Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo were attacked by No Quarter Catch Crew.
If history has taught us anything, most likely, this will result in either just The Good Brothers getting the title shot (and possibly winning the championship), or there will be a Fatal 4-Way with all four of those teams involved, depending on how general manager Ava decides to address the other two teams.
By and large, that should be the full lineup for the show. There's always a possibility more matches of random feuds could be added, even to the pre-show, but NXT normally operates with five to seven bouts per event.
In the meantime, if you want to test your prediction skills, not only should you leave a comment below with what you think is going to happen, but since this is going down at the UFC Apex, put in your UFC Prelims Bets and keep in mind that the crossovers between WWE and UFC under the TKO Group could just be getting started!
