WWE WrestleMania 2025 Spoilers

Singles Match for the Undisputed WWE Championship: Cody Rhodes (c) vs. John Cena

That heel turn saved this. Without that, a babyface vs. babyface match between these two would have been a disaster for Cody Rhodes, as some fans would have cheered him losing. Granted, that is still going to happen to a certain extent, as heel Cena is so new and exciting that we're all curious to see what he does with that gimmick.

I fully expect Rhodes to lose the title and for Cena to embark on his 17th world championship run as the top heel in the company. And you know what? Even though I was hoping we'd see Rhodes feuding with Randy Orton at WrestleMania instead, I think this is an even better option for who could dethrone The American Nightmare and still keep him looking strong. It's a heel John Cena, for crying out loud. Losing to him, especially if there are shenanigans involved, is no job.

PREDICTION: John Cena wins the title.

Singles Match for the Women's World Championship: Iyo Sky (c) vs. Bianca Belair

Honestly, I'm disappointed in WWE for this, as I think I can see through their booking philosophy.

Here's what I imagine happened. They didn't come up with a solid plan, decided on Belair against Ripley as a match that sells itself and is easy to do and gets their two top girls on the card so neither is left out, figured that if it wasn't going to have a real feud set up or anything, that they might as well throw Sky in there because they're the top 3 women in the company as far as their perspective for in-ring work and all goes, and they're really banking on that being good enough as-is. Then, because they know that they couldn't justify Sky just being inserted into the match for no reason, they opted to have the title change hands to put Ripley back into the challenger mode.

Having Ripley and Belair push Sky in the face like a dozen times in a row on multiple weeks is their whole feud here, and that's lame. They could do so much better, but just don't seemingly want to put in the effort, which is a shame.

With Ripley challenging Sky and Belair acting as the special guest referee, I maintain my assessment I've been saying, how that match will end in some kind of shenanigans that forces Adam Pearce to just make this a Triple Threat. That's why I'm not bothering to put a graphic up above, because I know it'll change.

Sky walks in as champion. Belair or Ripley walks out with the title. The match will be good, but I still would have rather seen them properly build up a singles match where Sky wasn't involved.

PREDICTION: The title changes hands, but I'm not yet sold on which one of the challengers wins.

Singles Match for the World Heavyweight Championship: Gunther (c) vs. Jey Uso

I hate to be that guy, but I know I'm not alone here in thinking that this is not feeling like it's WrestleMania-worthy for the world title by any means. It feels just barely more important than Sami Zayn's thrown-together match against Gunther for the Intercontinental Championship last year. Both matches, I think, are ultimately mistakes that are hurting The Ring General in the long run.

There's no denying Jey Uso is popular. Hell, I like the guy a lot, too. There's a part of me that wants to see him reach the mountain top, and I fully expect him to do that here. But I just don't think this is some Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania 30 situation, nor will it be recapturing the magic of KofiMania. I think that's exactly what WWE is trying to replicate, mind you, but in the most low-effort way possible, and that lack of care combined with the manufactured attempt at lightning in a bottle is going to not look great when history comes back around.

To put it another way, I think the fans will go nuts for Uso winning the title in the moment, but it might not even be the main event of Saturday, and WWE won't know what to do with Uso as champion afterward. He'll be set up for some generic feuds post-Mania against some feeder talent like Finn Balor or whatever, and by the time SummerSlam comes around (or even earlier), WWE will be happy to take the title off him. I just don't think there will be any sticking power, but I hope I'm wrong, for Uso's sake.

PREDICTION: Jey Uso wins the title.

Singles Match for the WWE Women's Championship: Tiffany Stratton (c) vs. Charlotte Flair

I wonder how far back they had this plan and how annoyed they must be at how they've had to pivot. That's on WWE, though, for not thinking ahead and working out the kinks in advance. They should've known Flair would become the heel if they weren't willing to do anything to present her in a way that fans should cheer. What makes me think that they didn't want Stratton as the babyface is how hesitant they've been to let her be that babyface. Other than teaming with Trish Stratus and feuding with Nia Jax (who everyone on the roster hates in kayfabe, including heels), there's nothing for Stratton to be a "hero" character about. My guess is they want Flair to win the title since she's at 14 out of 16 title reigns, and she'll drop the belt within 3 months at most, and their thought process will be that Stratton will be better off for having had this match with Flair even despite losing.

This feud sucks, by the way. Stratton feels outclassed in every scenario, and I wish I could say that's because Flair is so much better and more confident, but she actually just comes across bored. This feels very much like they put it on paper, left it alone, and when they got around to all of this, the energy just isn't there. I feel like the match itself will be fine, if not outright good, but I don't think it will be great, and it isn't going to take long before WWE resets Stratton back to being a heel.

PREDICTION: Charlotte Flair wins.

Triple Threat Match: CM Punk vs. Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins

I've been repeating the same few points about this three-way feud for months, and I'm not going to stop until they give me a reason to change my mind. Those points are:

  • I think it's a mistake to do this where nothing is on the line, especially with it now being the main event of the first night. There needs to be stakes attached for it to be higher up on the show than 3 other world title matches.
  • If they do go with adding some stakes, I don't see how they make it for a world title match for Sunday. Where on the card would that go, and how would they do that if there hasn't been any build at all for these three against Gunther, Jey Uso, or really, Cody Rhodes or John Cena, which doesn't need to have a third man thrown in there at random?
  • I still think this should've been just Punk against Rollins, and Reigns should have been having his match with The Rock. Since The Rock couldn't be bothered to do that, Reigns should've been in some other match. Or, it should've been Reigns against Rollins, and Punk should've been the one challenging Gunther, not Jey Uso.
  • Paul Heyman and the whole favor to Punk thing has to come into play, but it's kind of lame if it ends up just being that Punk asks Heyman to help him cheat to win a match that means nothing.
  • It sucks that this doesn't involve Drew McIntyre, who was a lynch pin in all of this and deserves something better than just a rushed undercard match with Damian Priest, who also deserves better (and should be fighting for the United States Championship).

Regardless of these opinions, I also think these three guys are great and that they'll put on a good show.

PREDICTION: CM Punk wins.

Kevin Owens vs. Randy Orton

This needs a gimmick. These two guys have to brawl in a Street Fight or Last Man Standing match or something. If it's just a normal match, I'm sure they'll have a good one, but it would upgrade this so much more if they get to use weapons and break the traditional rules. This likely ends with Orton punting Owens, who takes some time off.

PREDICTION: Randy Orton wins.

AJ Styles vs. Logan Paul

For the most part, this match is rather straightforward. They're feuding because Logan Paul should be on the card for media purposes, AJ Styles should be on the card for being a big name, they haven't fought each other yet, and it'll be a good match. That's pretty much it, but I can't say I fault WWE for going in this direction, as it was one of the few options on the table for Paul and Styles that wouldn't have left them in some multi-man match for the Intercontinental Championship or something else where they'd get lost in the shuffle.

PREDICTION: Logan Paul wins.

More matches will be added to this card, so keep checking back for updates to these predictions every couple days!

REMAINING OTHER PREDICTIONS (as of 4/2/2025)

  • I was thinking Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez would defend the women's tag titles against teams like Nia Jax & Candice LeRae, Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross (if they end up putting Bliss with The Wyatt Sicks), and so on. However, such little effort has been put into that, that I'm now thinking it's either them against Bayley and Lyra Valkyria, or maybe they don't defend the titles at all.
  • If Lyra Valkyria defends the Women's Intercontinental Championship on this card—which, not everyone can get on the card, mind you—the biggest match possible is against Becky Lynch, but they haven't set that up at all yet. No other match is worth putting on the card for a singles bout, and yes, I'm including Bayley in that assessment, as they're already set to face each other on Raw. It just isn't worth having that match happen and then repeating it again.
  • I'm curious about Chelsea Green's Women's United States Championship. I just cannot see them doing Green against Zelina Vega (especially after Vega keeps losing to The Green Regime), but I can't see them bypassing Green entirely, either. Jade Cargill vs. Naomi in a singles match with nothing on the line feels like a waste of a spot, too, but they haven't at all looped them into this to make it a multi-woman midcard title feud that involves Cargill and Naomi.
  • For the men's United States Championship, LA Knight seems to be embroiled in a multi-man feud that will feature Braun Strowman, Jacob Fatu, and Solo Sikoa, possibly with Shinsuke Nakamura also in the mix. I wanted Fatu against Sikoa separately, but I don't think I'm getting that.
  • Damian Priest vs. Drew McIntyre in singles competition happens. Maybe it'll get a gimmick.
  • With regards to the Intercontinental Championship, Bron Breakker seems deadlocked into having a Fatal 4-Way against Penta, Dominik Mysterio, and Finn Balor. I think and hope Dominik Mysterio walks out of WrestleMania with the title after pinning Balor.
  • Are they really going to end up doing a mask versus mask match between Rey Mysterio and Chad Gable for the El Grande Americano gimmick?
  • The New Day get their tag team title shot against The War Raiders, but that might just happen on the Raw episode prior or after WrestleMania, rather than at WrestleMania itself.
  • Multi-teams for the SmackDown tag titles between The Street Profits, #DIY, Pretty Deadly, The Motor City Machine Guns, and possibly Los Garza, but they might not be involved, as they're the biggest losers of this feud. I guess Melo Don't Miz won't get involved.
  • A guy like Andrade seems like he'll be lost in the shuffle and just in the ATGMBR, as there's no way his tease of a feud with Legado del Fantasma ONE WEEK that was seemingly dropped after that makes it onto this show. I guess people like Sami Zayn, Karrion Kross, Jimmy Uso, Tama Tonga, etc are just left to be in the battle royal, too. Maybe the same for Aleister Black.
  • It overall feels like WWE is setting up a lot of stories that won't get a chance to be on this card, possibly with the thought process in mind that if they stack the Raw and SmackDown episodes that same week, that it'll feel like it's WrestleMania the whole 7 days. But as I'll always point out, you can't tell someone like Jade Cargill and Naomi that having a match on SmackDown the day prior to Mania is "just as good" as being on WrestleMania itself. It flat out isn't, and they'd know that, even if they'd package up b.s. and try to sell it with a smile.

This page will be altered on a regular basis to reflect changes to the show including any new matches added to the lineup, adjustments to the card, revised predictions and any other information about this event. Stay tuned for the latest updates!
