WWE RAW RESULTS: JANUARY 8, 2024

  • Promo: The show opened with Triple H thanking the fans and introducing Cody Rhodes. He presented Rhodes with a video package highlighting his journey up to this point. Rhodes then cut a promo about becoming champion, which was interrupted by The Rock. After being booed intensely by the crowd for several minutes, The Rock asked Cody if he could hold the WWE title belt for a moment. Cody let him in exchange for the People's Champion title. They gave their respective belts back and Rock said that he's going away for a while, but he'll be back and he'll come for Rhodes, whether or not he's champion, because Cody's story with Roman Reigns is over, but the story between The Rock and Cody Rhodes is just beginning. He then handed something (we don't know what) to Cody and warned him to never break his heart again.
  • Ilja Dragunov defeated Shinsuke Nakamura by pinfall.
  • Promo: The Judgment Day's Finn Balor, Dominik Mysterio and JD McDonagh introduced Rhea Ripley and Damian Priest. R-Truth also popped up to celebrate "bringing the tag titles back to The Judgment Day". Balor suggests Awesome Truth put the tag titles on the line, but R-Truth has a different idea for a six-man tag team match between himself, The Miz and "a guy you can't see."
  • This started off as a 2-on-1 handicap match, but turned into a legit six-man tag with John Cena's arrival. John Cena and Awesome Truth defeated The Judgment Day's Finn Balor, JD McDonagh and Dominik Mysterio by pinfall
  • Backstage, Liv Morgan attacked Rhea Ripley
  • Roxanne Perez defeated Indi Hartwell by pinfall
  • After the commercial break, backstage, Natalya had a stare down with Roxanne Perez and said "I'll see you tomorrow night on NXT" to which Perez said "No. Tomorrow night, you'll see me on my show."
  • Promo: Sami Zayn thanks the fans and puts over Gunther as the best intercontinental champion of all time ("But guess what...I beat him!") He's interrupted by Ludwig Kaiser and Giovanni Vinci, who are disgusted Zayn's holding that title. Chad Gable comes out to help even the odds before a fight can break out.
  • Sami Zayn and Chad Gable defeated Imperium's Ludwig Kaiser and Giovanni Vinci by pinfall (Gable pinned Vinci)
  • Backstage, Adam Pearce, Nick Aldis and Ava were meeting with Andrade (who leaves) and they speak about the upcoming draft and friendly competition. Chelsea Green comes over, which prompts Pearce to immediately say "Who wants to make a trade?" She's mad that WrestleMania went by without her, so she wants to complain to higher management. They inform her Chelsea has a special opponent tonight.
  • Jade Cargill defeated Chelsea Green by pinfall.
  • Backstage, Sami Zayn grants Chad Gable a title shot for the Intercontinental Championship next week on Raw.
  • World Heavyweight Championship No. 1 Contender's Fatal 4-Way Match: Drew McIntyre vs Bronson Reed vs Jey Uso vs Ricochet — Jey Uso won by pinning Drew McIntyre due to some interference from CM Punk causing a distraction for McIntyre
