WWE Draft 2024 Results: Trades Between Raw & SmackDown Rosters

Posted by Anthony Mango Friday, April 26, 2024

The 2024 WWE DRAFT will start on the April 26th edition of Friday Night SmackDown and conclude on the April 29th edition of Monday Night Raw. Nearly every Superstar from Raw and SmackDown will be eligible to be traded, as well as talent from NXT who will be called-up to the main roster, although WWE frequently leaves wrestlers out of the draft each year and keeps them as free agents.

Stay tuned to this post, which will be updated continuously throughout both nights to fill you in on all the trades in one convenient location. Make sure to keep refreshing for updates!

RULES FOR THE 2024 WWE DRAFT

  1. Champions on each brand will be protected and are not eligible to be drafted. As a result, Damian Priest, Becky Lynch, Awesome Truth and Sami Zayn will remain on Raw. Cody Rhodes, Bayley, A-Town Down Under and Logan Paul will remain on SmackDown.
  2. Even though their status as champions allows them to go to both brands, WWE Women's Tag Team Champions Asuka and Kairi Sane are eligible to be drafted. They will be assigned to that brand if they lose the titles.
  3. Friday's SmackDown will feature four rounds of draft picks being announced. Each round will consist of the brands making two picks apiece for a total of 16 picks being announced (8 for SmackDown and 8 for Raw).
  4. Monday's Raw will feature six rounds of draft picks being announced. Each round will consist of the brands making two picks apiece for a total of 24 picks (12 for Raw and 12 for SmackDown).
  5. SmackDown will have the first pick on Friday, and Raw will have first pick on Monday.
  6. Rosters will go into effect on Monday, May 6, two days after Backlash France.

NIGHT 1 MAIN DRAFT RESULTS

Round 1:

SMACKDOWN DRAFTS: Bianca Belair

RAW DRAFTS: Jey Uso

SMACKDOWN DRAFTS: Carmelo Hayes

RAW DRAFTS: Seth Rollins

- Wow. Not only am I surprised that Belair was first (but that's cool) and that Jey and Melo popped up before Seth, but Melo being drafted in the FIRST ROUND is a great pat on the back for him. Very cool stuff.

Round 2:

SMACKDOWN DRAFTS: Randy Orton

RAW DRAFTS: Bron Breakker

SMACKDOWN DRAFTS: Nia Jax

RAW DRAFTS: Liv Morgan

- Very glad Orton is on the same roster as Cody. Morgan staying on Raw makes sense, as she can feud with Becky Lynch and Rhea Ripley down the line (assuming Rhea stays on Raw). Moving Nia is a smart move, too. And when it comes to Breakker, it's 50/50 depending on where other people go, but it's certainly not a bad thing quite yet. We'll see. Future United States champion?

Round 3:

SMACKDOWN DRAFTS: LA Knight

RAW DRAFTS: Ricochet

SMACKDOWN DRAFTS: The Bloodline (Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga and Paul Heyman)

RAW DRAFTS: Sheamus

- So nothing's changed here. The only interesting element would be to see what happens going forward with other picks. I'm not too shocked about any of these guys landing where they did. For that matter, Drew McIntyre is going to stay on Raw, then, and I'm assuming part of why Ricochet is on Raw instead of moving to SmackDown is because Samantha Irvin is on the red brand.

Round 4:

SMACKDOWN DRAFTS: AJ Styles

RAW DRAFTS: Alpha Academy (Chad Gable, Otis Dozovic, Akira Tozawa and Maxxine Dupri)

SMACKDOWN DRAFTS: Andrade

RAW DRAFTS: Kiana James

- Heeeey look at Kiana getting the call-up. She was on my watch list as a potential, but I thought a few others like Blair Davenport could have had a higher chance. Good for her. I wonder if they're going to pair her up with anyone in particular and if Izzi Dame is done as her sidekick instead. As far as the others, it all makes sense, and with Andrade being on SmackDown, I think that seals the deal even more that when Charlotte Flair is back, she's going to stay on the blue brand, which naturally also makes sense given how Becky is on Raw. Gable gets to keep going after Sami Zayn. In all likelihood, The Creed Brothers will stay on Raw now, too.

NIGHT 1 SUPPLEMENTAL PICKS

SMACKDOWN DRAFTS:

  • The O.C. (Luke Gallows, Karl Anderson, Michin)
  • Cedric Alexander
  • Ashante "Thee" Adonis

RAW DRAFTS:

  • Shayna Baszler
  • Zoey Stark
  • Ivar
  • Alba Fyre & Isla Dawn

- It's always interesting to me how they decide which people just don't matter enough, and when you see how someone like Shayna just ultimately dropped down in their eyes so much. Even under Triple H, she's not considered important enough to be on the main draft picks. It's a shame. Why not have a speed round on the show and just do more of those picks on the actual program?

NIGHT 2 MAIN DRAFT RESULTS

Round 1:

RAW DRAFTS: Imperium (Ludwig Kaiser and Gunther)

SMACKDOWN DRAFTS: Jade Cargill

RAW DRAFTS: Damage CTRL (Asuka, Iyo Sky, Kairi Sane, Dakota Kai)

SMACKDOWN DRAFTS: Kevin Owens

- I got the Gunther pick wrong. I figured he'd go to SmackDown with Cody. Damage CTRL to Raw was an easy pick to get them away from Bayley. The other two just stay where they are.

Round 2:

RAW DRAFTS: CM Punk

SMACKDOWN DRAFTS: The Pride (Bobby Lashley, Montez Ford, Angelo Dawkins and B-Fab)

RAW DRAFTS: Braun Strowman

SMACKDOWN DRAFTS: Tiffany Stratton

- I'm surprised they split up Kaiser and Stratton, but I'm glad she's not on Raw. Strowman returning is good to hear. The Pride being on SmackDown makes sense with Bianca staying there, but I don't know how much more they're going to do on that brand. Weird almost nobody is moving

Round 3:

RAW DRAFTS: LWO (Carlito, Cruz Del Toro, Dragon Lee, Joaquin Wilde, Rey Mysterio and Zelina Vega)

SMACKDOWN DRAFTS: Legado Del Fantasma (Angel, Berto, Elektra Lopez and Santos Escobar)

RAW DRAFTS: Drew McIntyre

SMACKDOWN DRAFTS: Shinsuke Nakamura

- Carlito went with LWO. Interesting. Not the biggest fan of Nakamura going to SmackDown where he'll be in the same spot as Cody for longer. I feel like he would have been better off as an early feud for Bron Breakker, for instance.

Round 4:

RAW DRAFTS: The Judgment Day (Dominik Mysterio, Finn Balor, JD McDonagh)

SMACKDOWN DRAFTS: Naomi

RAW DRAFTS: Ilja Dragunov

SMACKDOWN DRAFTS: Chelsea Green and Piper Niven

- They're taking Chelsea away from Adam Pearce? Boo. The first 2 picks just stay the same again. Dragunov to Raw makes sense, but again, he'll be stepping on the toes of Breakker, while SmackDown will (at least right now) just have Melo as the only new addition from NXT.

Round 5:

RAW DRAFTS: The New Day (Kofi Kingston, Xavier Woods)

SMACKDOWN DRAFTS: Pretty Deadly (Elton Prince, Kit Wilson)

RAW DRAFTS: Lyra Valkyria

SMACKDOWN DRAFTS: Candice LeRae and Indi Hartwell

- I definitely would have drafted Pretty Deadly to Raw. I guess DIY are going to SmackDown. Good for Lyra. Raw is likely the right spot for her (even though the women's division is starting to get crowded there).

Round 6:

RAW DRAFTS: Final Testament (Karrion Kross, AOP, Scarlett and Paul Ellering)

SMACKDOWN DRAFTS: #DIY (Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa)

RAW DRAFTS: Bronson Reed

SMACKDOWN DRAFTS: Blair Davenport

- Good for Davenport. It makes sense for her to go to SmackDown, too. She'll be a good opponent for Bayley and Bianca before things ramp up with Jade and when Flair returns.

NIGHT 2 SUPPLEMENTAL PICKS

RAW DRAFTS:

  • The Creed Brothers (Julius Creed, Brutus Creed)
  • Dijak
  • Ivy Nile
  • Kayden Carter and Katana Chance
  • Natalya
  • New Catch Republic (Pete Dunne and Tyler Bate)
  • Odyssey Jones

SMACKDOWN DRAFTS:

  • Apollo Crews
  • Giovanni Vinci
  • Tegan Nox
