Points of Impact: April 18, 2024 TNA Wrestling Results and Biggest Moments

Posted by Cherry Turner Saturday, April 20, 2024

Welcome to another edition of POINTS OF IMPACT—a breakdown of the top moments of this week's edition of TNA’s Impact Wrestling.

This segment will fill you in on the most important parts of the show worth checking out or keeping up to date with, in case you missed this episode of Impact Wrestling.

Without further ado, let's inspect the biggest takeaways of the week!

TNA IMPACT WRESTLING: APRIL 18, 2024 RESULTS

#5 - Sacrifice (Not the PPV)

Opening the show this week was Hammerstone, facing the leader of the FBI, Guido. Hammerstone’s Rebellion opponent, Josh Alexander, was on commentary, and from his seat at ringside, he saw Hammerstone make short work of Guido. A short flurry from the former Nunzio would be cut off, and he’d get the same treatment as all of Hammer’s other victims-the headgear forcefully put on him, and then, the Torture. Hammer and Alexander would have a stare down after the match, battle lines drawn.

#4 - A Rhino, A Man of the People, A Something

Coming together to combat Mustafa Ali and the GYV, Rhino, Cody Deaner and Jake Something formed an odd trio team this week that was surprisingly effective. While all six men put in a good shift, this match was built around Something, and he delivered.

The way he was built up to, the fear in Ali at having to face him, the way it took 3 dives to take him down-Something was the star of this match. For a moment however, his opponents would shine brighter, Ali getting the win on Deaner with a 450 Splash.

#3 - We Believe

Joe Hendry is perhaps the most entertaining man on the mic in TNA right now. Coming to the ring with more charisma than should be possible for a blonde Scottish man, Hendry addressed Rebellion opponent Rich Swann before dispatching local talent LSG.

It wasn’t mind blowing, nor ground breaking. It was, essentially, a squash match. But Hendry always makes it entertaining. And it’s nice to enjoy his wins, knowing he’ll likely lose at the PPV.

#2 - Misfire

Ahead of their tag title clash at Rebellion, Decay and Spitfire engaged in a preview singles match, Rosemary taking on Jody Threat. The two were, for much of the match, equal, though it would seem Spitfire have regressed, tactics wise.

The end of the bout came with a distraction, Havok trying to get involved on the apron, Dani Luna getting up on the apron too, and the two slowly getting down. This allowed Rosemary to hit the Spear on Threat, and get the win. It was exactly this kind of tactics that Spitfire learnt to thwart in order to beat MK Ultra-what’s changed?

#1 - Farewell From This Side

On their way out, the MCMG played the hits, and honestly, that’s okay. The result of this match was, from the moment their departure was rumoured, never in question. Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley weren’t gonna win the TNA tag titles. So they gave us an entertaining match, filled with classic Guns action. They, as said before, played the hits, but when the hits are this good, that isn’t a bad thing,

The end of the bout would come with interference from Alisha, halting Shelley on the top rope. Sabin would be sent into him, knocking him off, and Sabin would then eat a Roster Cut and a Boston Knee Party for the 1, 2,3.

On their way out, the MCMG put the System over.
