Posted by Cherry Turner Saturday, March 30, 2024

Welcome to another edition of POINTS OF IMPACT—a breakdown of the top moments of this week's edition of TNA’s Impact Wrestling.

This segment will fill you in on the most important parts of the show worth checking out or keeping up to date with, in case you missed this episode of Impact Wrestling.

Without further ado, let's inspect the biggest takeaways of the week!

TNA IMPACT WRESTLING: MARCH 28, 2024 RESULTS

#5 - Customer Doesn’t Always Know Best

Cody Deaner continued his pledge to do what the fans wanted this week, facing not one but two people in a handicap match. Those people, of course, were the Grizzled Young Veterans.

The freshly babyface Deaner gave it his all, but he was, to no one’s surprise, quickly dealt with by the GYV, with Grit Your Teeth spelling the end of his night. This feud likely isn’t over, but Deaner has yet to win a battle in this war.

#4 - Not As Easy As ABC

Like with any other branch of the Bullet Club at some point of another, there seems to be tension brewing amongst ABC. Talking backstage about their recent bad luck, Ace Austin questions whether or not Chris Bey should be making attempts to get a shot at the X Division title, when they should be focusing on the tag belts. Bet accuses Austin of thinking he’s not good enough to do both, and later asks if Austin is questioning his loyalty to ABC.

While this team splitting would be sad to see, as talented as they are, it could be argued they’ve done all they can do as a team. We can only wait and see, as they are owed a contractual rematch for the Tag Titles against the System-or whoever holds the belts by that time.

#3 - You Know It (And Her)

The 4-8-1 match returned this week, with the Knockouts kicking off the show. For those unfamiliar, two randomly generated teams within the division have an eight man tag, with the winners then having a 4 person match, the winner of which receiving a title shot. Last year’s edition was chaotic and fun, and this year was no different.

Seeing partners face off against each other like Rosemary and Havok, and enemies having to work together like Jody Threat and Masha Slamovich, this match was filled with a ton of interesting dynamics. The team of Rosemary, Xia Brookside, Dani Luna, and the returning, filling in for Ash By Elegance, Steph De Lander, would pick up the win, and then did battle against each other.

It looked like Rosemary would take the win, setting up the As Above, So Below, until Matt Cardona, notorious tag partner of De Lander, made his own TNA return, hitting the Demon Assassin with the Radio Silence to allow De Lander to win, and become No 1 Contender.

#2 - Hot Sauce, Hot Action

Once again, Josh Alexander called out Hammerstone, and once again, someone else answered the call. Looking for a fight, Alexander took on the man to answer his challenge, ROH legend Tracy Williams, in what was an absolute pleasure of a match to watch. Like two peas in a pod, these men just clicked together.

Enjoying the advantage of familiarity, in Philadelphia and in the 2300 arena, Williams fought honourably but viciously against Alexander, who had no mercy to give, taking the fight to Hot Sauce. The outcome of the match, perhaps never in doubt, was Alexander winning Siri the C4 Spike.

After the bell, the two competitors showed each other respect, only for them both to be laid out by none other than Hammerstone.

#1 - Shoot Em, Tag Em, Bag Em

In this week’s main event, two people with massive chips on their shoulders butted heads, as Chris Sabin took on Steve Maclin. Maclin, having split with the Rascalz, exchanged tense words after with Sabin backstage, hence this match happening. But if Maclin is pissed, Sabin is too, adopting the more brutal tactics of one of his tag partners.

Like Alex Shelley, Sabin picked a limb and destroyed it, targeting the arm of Maclin. All the frustration and ruthlessness in the world wouldn’t prove enough however, as despite taking big damage, and barely beating the referee’s count after missing a dive, Maclin was able to hit the KIA to win the match.
