WWE SUMMERSLAM 2024 RESULTS:
Singles Match for the WWE Women's World Championship: Liv Morgan (c) vs. Rhea Ripley
RESULT: Liv Morgan retained by pinfall
THOUGHTS: Solid match with a good finish to keep this story going. I dig it.
Singles Match for the WWE Intercontinental Championship: Sami Zayn (c) vs. Bron Breakker
THOUGHTS: About time. I still think he should have won at Money in the Bank and that this stall and rematch wasn't necessary.
Singles Match for the WWE United States Championship: Logan Paul (c) vs. LA Knight
THOUGHTS: Glad to see Knight finally win a title. This was a thumbs up for a match, too.
Singles Match for the WWE Women's Championship: Bayley (c) vs. Nia Jax
THOUGHTS: Well, a few months back, I thought Tiffany Stratton would have been cashing in to win the title. She did try to cash in, but Jax coming out on top with the title isn't the same exact result. It seemed more and more likely this would be the case, and I'm not opposed to it, but I hope there's a solid plan in place for what to do next.
Singles Match: CM Punk vs. Drew McIntyre (with special guest referee Seth Rollins)
THOUGHTS: It had to go down this way. McIntyre was losing more things overall to Punk along the way of this feud. Punk and Rollins need more animosity. It makes way more sense than if Punk had just won, even with this being his first singles match back on television in WWE. Fans won't stop cheering for Punk.
Singles Match for the World Heavyweight Championship: Damian Priest (c) vs. Gunther
RESULT: Gunther won the title by submission (Priest) with some help from Finn Balor screwing over Priest and helping out The Ring General.
THOUGHTS: I hope they have a good explanation for Balor turning on Priest, but nevertheless, this was a good match with the right result and it will lead to the right outcome, as we needed to transition to Priest vs Balor. I'm 100% down for everything going on here.
Bloodline Rules Match for the WWE Championship: Cody Rhodes (c) vs. Solo Sikoa
THOUGHTS: Fun match with an ending that made the crowd go nuts. They did their jobs.
