The following are my predictions for the 2024 WWE Saturday Night's Main Event XXXVII.

Check back for Saturday Night's Main Event 2024 results and review coverage here when the time comes.

WWE Championship Match: Cody Rhodes (c) vs. Kevin Owens

Obviously, Cody Rhodes isn't dropping the title. This is just a means to milk another match out of this feud and they've stretched it many months past when it arguably could have reached its logical conclusion. They'll have a good match, but I really think this should have ended a while ago and Cody should have moved on to someone else. Arguably, this should've been when the match with The Rock took place. I really don't want that happening at WrestleMania, nor do I want The Rock to beat Cody any time before that, either. More on that over the coming months, but as far as this, Owens stands no chance at winning.

PREDICTION: Cody Rhodes retains.

WWE Women's United States Championship Tournament Final: TBD vs. TBD

Without knowing who is in the match, it is hard to fully predict. I think it'll come down to either Bayley vs. Naomi or Chelsea Green vs. Naomi.

PREDICTION: I'm rooting a bit for Chelsea Green, even though I feel Bayley might have this. I'd be fine with either of them or Naomi winning.

Triple Threat Match for the World Heavyweight Championship: Gunther (c) vs Finn Balor vs Damian Priest

Balor interfered in two of Gunther's matches to cost Damian Priest. I fully expect Priest to then interfere here, cost Balor, and either set up a Triple Threat for Royal Rumble, or for Gunther to move on entirely. Balor isn't winning this title. If ever, it's certainly not happening until after WrestleMania.

Update: Damian Priest has been added to the match, skipping straight to the Triple Threat idea. Fair enough. I guess we're just jumping over the Gunther/Balor match. I wonder what that means for how they use Gunther for the Netflix debut, the January 25th Saturday Night's Main Event, and Royal Rumble, as I think these two HAVE to be done fighting him.

PREDICTION: Gunther retains.

Women's World Championship Match: Liv Morgan (c) vs. Iyo Sky

Staaaaaaaaaaaaalllllll. Good lord, WWE does not want to just have Rhea Ripley beat Liv Morgan and win that title back, do they? Iyo Sky isn't winning this. What would the WrestleMania match be? Legitimately take yourself out of the equation of "I'd like to see a good match with people I enjoy watching" and look at it from the business perspective (IE, book this like WWE and not AEW, where every match is considered a dream match and it's just about random in-ring contests) and you'll see that there's nothing for Iyo Sky to do at WrestleMania that will be as big as what Rhea Ripley can do. Even if that means stalling even longer and making it so Rhea Ripley has to win the Royal Rumble to challenge Liv Morgan and just do that match there, it's still Ripley as the next champion. The only alternative to throw in the mix is Becky Lynch, who could beat Morgan, but that still isn't going to be Becky against Iyo, so Morgan still has to retain here.

I like Iyo, don't get me wrong. But she's already walked into WrestleMania XL as the champion against Bayley in a storyline that made way more sense and was STILL rushed. The likelihood of her beating Morgan at this stage with Rhea, Becky, and hell, even Raquel Rodriguez turning on her to challenge her, only to set up Iyo in a random match against any of them or anyone else on the Raw roster, is absolutely not how this is going down.

PREDICTION: Liv Morgan retains.

Drew McIntyre vs. Sami Zayn

I'm surprised they're putting this many matches on this two-hour show. That's crazy. This feels like more of a Raw match that might have been booked for the Netflix debut, but maybe we'll get a street fight between them or something on that night instead. I'm sure this match will be fun.

PREDICTION: Drew McIntyre wins.
