WWE NXT Vengeance Day 2024 Spoilers and Predictions |
Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Finals: The Wolf Dogs (Baron Corbin and Bron Breakker) vs. Trick Melo Gang (Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams)
Baron Corbin and Bron Breakker are better suited to challenge for the tag titles at NXT Stand & Deliver (if that's where that match will take place) and seeing Trick Williams pull double duty and fail this match will help set up Carmelo Hayes turning on him and costing him the title match later in the night. Even though it's dragging out a bit, the Hayes/Williams story is engaging, and I'm digging The Wolf Dogs together. Thumbs up.
PREDICTION: Baron Corbin and Bron Breakker win.
Singles match for the NXT Championship: Ilja Dragunov (c) vs. Trick Williams
As stated, I think Williams will go into this match having lost the Dusty Cup final. He'll put up a good fight, but Hayes will do something to cost him the win. It'll be a murky enough setup where I think NXT Stand & Deliver will feature a Triple Threat between these two and Hayes.
PREDICTION: Ilja Dragunov wins.
Singles match for the NXT Women's Championship: Lyra Valkyria (c) vs. Roxanne Perez
I'm not sure about this one. Cora Jade's injury could have ruined all their plans, for all we know. Roxanne is heading toward a heel turn, so I could see her winning the title here if there's a plan for a good enough babyface to fight her at Stand & Deliver. But I could also see Valkyria coming out of this victorious, only for Perez to turn heel after as a result of her frustrations. Then again, isn't that just what's happening with Hayes? Does WWE really want to do both of those at the same time? And for that matter, who would be in the title match come WrestleMania weekend? A rematch between these two just isn't good enough, and I'm not sure who could fight either solo. It might have to be a multi-woman match.
PREDICTION: Right now, I'm leaning toward Roxanne Perez winning.
Singles match for the NXT North American Championship: Oba Femi (c) vs. Dragon Lee
Oba Femi isn't dropping the title right now after what they just did for him. Not for a few months. This is just a rematch for the sake of it.
PREDICTION: Oba Femi wins.
Six-Person Mixed Tag Team Match: The D'Angelo Family (Tony D'Angelo, Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo and Adriana Rizzo) vs. OTM (Bronco Nima, Lucien Price and Jaida Parker, with SCRYPTS)
I can't say I'm thrilled about this being on the card. It seems more like a TV match. The titles aren't on the line, OTM already lost to The Family before, and it's all just mostly filler. I guess they felt the need to do something to distract from the tag titles not being defended in the meantime while the Dusty Cup goes on, and couldn't think of any alternatives, or figured showcasing Rizzo and Parker was enough to freshen this up. Meh. The Family wins and hopefully, this feud is over with.
PREDICTION: The D'Angelo Family wins.
No Disqualification Match: Dijak vs. Joe Gacy
I'll admit, this new Gacy gimmick is starting to grow on me a bit. As much as I think Dijak really should be pushed more, I don't think he's winning. The story here is Gacy. He has to overcome Dijak, or it'll just set him back and Dijak won't really get anything out of it.
PREDICTION: Joe Gacy wins.
