Countdown Pre-Show Match: Joe Gacy vs. Shawn Spears
RESULT: Joe Gacy won by pinfall.
THOUGHTS: Surprised Gacy won, especially after the surprising heel turn from Ridge Holland starting this match by attacking Gacy with a steel chair. I just assumed that would mean even more so that Spears would win.
NXT Tag Team Championship Match: The Wolf Dogs Baron Corbin and Bron Breakker (c) vs. Axiom & Nathan Frazer
RESULT: The Wolf Dogs retained by pinfall (Corbin pinned Frazer after a spear from Breakker)
THOUGHTS: Solid match. I wonder why they didn't go with the bigger marquee of Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson as the challengers, but this arguably is better than what that match would've been.
Triple Threat Match for the NXT North American Championship: Oba Femi (c) vs. Dijak vs. Josh Briggs
RESULT: Oba Femi retained by pinfall on Briggs.
THOUGHTS: Great slugfest. This was awesome.
Six-Woman Tag Team Match: Thea Hail, Fallon Henley & Kelani Jordan vs. Jacy Jayne, Kiana James & Izzi Dame
RESULT: Thea Hail forces Izzi Dame to submit and gets the win for her team.
THOUGHTS: I'm glad these girls got on the card. Obviously, it wasn't as bombastic as the previous match, but they did their jobs. Good for Thea in particular, getting a win on a big PLE like this.
Ava Raine announces the upcoming crowning of an NXT Women's North American Championship. Very cool!
We've got a traditional old school "show off the new signing" spot with Giulia shown in the crowd. Also very cool.
NXT Women's Championship Match: Lyra Valkyria (c) vs. Roxanne Perez
RESULT: Roxanne Perez won the title by submission.
THOUGHTS: Foregone conclusion with a match that wasn't all that thrilling to me, but not bad.
NXT Championship Match: Ilja Dragunov (c) vs. Tony D'Angelo
RESULT: Ilja Dragunov retained by pinfall.THOUGHTS: I thought it was almost a guarantee Tony D'Angelo was going to win. That's surprising. This wasn't as fun as the Triple Threat, but it was a step up from the previous match.
Carmelo Hayes vs. Trick Williams
RESULT: Trick Williams won by pinfall.THOUGHTS: Good match. Not as amazing as I was hoping it would be, to be honest, but I enjoyed it.
