WWE NXT Battleground 2024 Spoilers and Predictions

Ladder Match for the Inaugural NXT Women's North American Championship: Lash Legend vs. Sol Ruca vs. Fallon Henley vs. Jaida Parker vs.Michin vs. Kelani Jordan

I think this match comes down to Lash Legend, Sol Ruca or Fallon Henley winning. While there's no rule that says if you have one heel women's champion (Roxanne Perez) that you can't have another (Fallon Henley, for instance), I do think WWE will lean more toward giving this to a babyface like Sol Ruca, or turning Lash Legend face in the process. Then again, Jordan could be a really solid pick for this, too. Henley makes the most sense to me if you're going for who has an immediate feud to follow, as she can continue her story with Thea Hail, but I'm going to say Ruca is the standout.

PREDICTION: Sol Ruca wins.

Triple Threat Match for the NXT North American Championship: Oba Femi (c) vs. Joe Coffey vs. Wes Lee

Why was Joe Coffey brought in here to replace Ivar? And why was Josh Briggs not given a spot in this as the sole loser? That seems odd. I don't know. I'm not a fan. I'd have rather just had Femi against Lee, Ivar and Briggs.

I guess they want Coffey to take the pin, before doing a Lee and Femi solo match?

PREDICTION: Oba Femi wins.

NXT Underground Match: Lola Vice vs. Shayna Baszler

Sure. Let's put them together to split them up right after. But at least I'd expect this match will be even better than the Natalya one. I do think that this whole thing has been rushed and sloppy, even though on paper, it makes a lot of sense to book this for the card.

PREDICTION: Lola Vice wins.

NXT Tag Team Championship Match: Axiom & Nathan Frazer (c) vs. The Good Brothers

My brain tells me Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows are going to win the titles, because it would mean more for potential viewers to watch them on the show than to keep it on The Supersonic Duo. But I didn't anticipate Axiom and Frazer would be prioritized as much as they've been, so I keep counting them out and being wrong. Maybe it is just as simple as WWE likes them enough to keep the belts on them and The O.C. are just challengers to build up hype for a premium live event.

PREDICTION: New tag team champions?

NXT Women's Championship Match: Roxanne Perez (c) vs. Jordynne Grace

Yo! This is so cool. All the more reason to believe Grace is going to come to WWE whenever her contract expires in TNA. I'm so down for that. In the meantime, she's not going to beat Perez here, but I'm sure she'll lose in a way that proves that she could've or should've won if it weren't for shenanigans.

PREDICTION: Roxanne Perez retains by the skin of her teeth and cheating.

NXT Championship Match: Trick Williams (c) vs. Ethan Page

Again, how cool is this? You see me complaining a lot about how there's a lack of build for certain things, but once in a while, that's okay. This is one of those instances. The story was this tension between Trick Williams and Meta-Four via Lash Legend, only to have Noam Dar and Oro Mensah attacked by a mystery assailant, setting up Trick as the likely attacker (playing off his Carmelo Hayes feud), only to reveal a brand new signing as being the culprit.

What I love about this is how not only is Ethan Page fresh to the scene, but the story doesn't need anything more than that right now. Page attacked these people to take them out, got to Williams, negotiated a contract and shoehorned his way into the title match. After this, we can play more into a continued feud with them, or Meta-Four can come back into the mix, feuding with both. Noam Dar is great in a lot of ways, but he didn't strike me as the right opponent at this time for this event. On television, that's a different story. A one-off match with Williams for the title on some random Tuesday night works better for him, as does this open up the possibility for Meta-Four to turn babyface and feud with Page, who could get wins over both Dar and Mensah.

PREDICTION: Trick Williams retains.

This page will be altered on a regular basis to reflect changes to the show including any new matches added to the lineup, adjustments to the card, revised predictions and any other information about this event. Stay tuned for the latest updates!
