ROH Supercard of Honor 2024 Spoilers |
ROH World Championship Match: Eddie Kingston (c) vs. Mark Briscoe
Why isn't this for the AEW Continental Crown Championship? Oh, you mean to tell me Eddie Kingston joined a tournament that had a belt on the line, decided for no reason to put his two other titles on the line in that, won it to unify those titles, and then, those titles can be defended separately? That sounds like Tony Khan did the exact same stupid sensibility of not understanding what a unification is that WWE has been ridiculously parading around with the WWE Championship and Universal Championship and the women's title that says "undisputed" on it and the two sets of tag team titles.
Dumb. Just dumb. The belts should just be split up, then. But they probably won't be, unless that's specifically why they're messing around with the idea of separate defenses now. Maybe TK wants Okada to have a belt, but to not have to defend the ROH and STRONG titles, so he's just breaking them up after 3 months.
If that is the case, then Briscoe stands a chance to win this. It all depends on if Okada beats Kingston. But even then, it doesn't mean Kingston has to lose the ROH title. He can drop the Continental and go back to keeping the other two.
Briscoe arguably should've won the TV title from Samoa Joe. I don't know if him being the one to beat Kingston for the world title is the direction I'd go. But, then again, I don't watch ROH, so maybe I'm missing some element of this storyline that would make it make way more sense to me.
As it stands, I'm going with "if Okada beats Kingston, Briscoe can win, but still probably won't."
PREDICTION: Eddie Kingston retains.
ROH Women's World Championship Match: Athena (c) vs. Hikaru Shida
Every time I've thought Athena would drop the belt, she hasn't. That makes me assume she's just retaining here. Then again, saying that makes me think she won't retain because it's too obvious, and Shida's an option that could be the next champion and play around on that brand. But I'll go with Athena more than likely sticking around while Shida was sent there to give her something to do, more so than to become the new figurehead of that division.
PREDICTION: Athena retains.
ROH Women's World Television Championship Match: Billie Starkz vs. Queen Aminata
With Billie Starkz not winning the title from Athena, this is probably the next option and maybe even why that took place (and why this title's being created, possibly, too).
Then again, I don't know what Aminata has been up to, and it might be too obvious to go with Starkz.
ROH World Television Championship Match: Kyle Fletcher (c) vs. Lee Johnson
It's too early for Kyle Fletcher to drop this title. Simple as that.
Stardom Showcase Six-Woman Tag Team Match: Mei Seira and Empress Nexus Venus (Mina Shirakawa and Maika) vs. Tam Nakano and Queen's Quest (Saya Kamitani and AZM)
I have no idea who any of these women are, for the most part.
