AEW All Out 2024 Spoilers |
Singles Match for the AEW World Championship: Bryan Danielson (c) vs. Jack Perry
Why was Christian Cage booked to win a #1 contender's match and Darby Allin set up to win a title shot for Grand Slam only to put the TNT champion against Danielson here? Huh??
Look, the match will be fun, but we all know Perry isn't going to win the title, the build is going to just be the one attack from Perry—which is nothing—and it's a shame the TNT title isn't going to be defended on the card. I'm not a fan of this strategy.
Singles Match for the AEW International Championship: Will Ospreay (c) vs. PAC
Will Ospreay winning this title back so quickly after dropping it, the entire situation around the American Championship just to get heat for MJF in London, and PAC already holding the World Trios Championship titles with Blackpool Combat Club all combine forces to tell you that there is absolutely no chance whatsoever that Ospreay drops the title here.
I'm sure the match will be fun regardless.
PREDICTION: Will Ospreay retains.
Chicago Street Fight for the CMLL World Women's Championship: Willow Nightingale (c) vs. Kris Statlander
Street Fight matches can be fun. I'm over the feud itself and I couldn't care less who is holding CMLL's title. It's basically a 50/50 thing for me as far as hype is concerned. I see no reason why Willow should lose this match.
Unsanctioned Lights Out Steel Cage Match: "Hangman" Adam Page vs. Swerve Strickland
Admittedly, after having a Texas Death Match, I don't think a steel cage is upping the ante. This feels like they didn't have a gimmick in mind, went to the old school thing and just figured that's good enough because it sounds intimidating, even if it ultimately isn't.
I'm glad they're having a match, though. This should be the end of the feud.
Update: Making it an "unsanctioned lights out" version of a steel cage match gives me more hope that they'll go balls to the wall. Awesome.
Daniel Garcia vs. MJF
The outcome here depends on Tony Khan's intentions for either actually finally starting to push Garcia in a solid direction, or if it's all just a means to stall. If the feud is going to continue, MJF will undoubtedly win. He just lost at All In, so it wouldn't shock me if he cheats to be victorious here to offset that and keep Garcia as the underdog. I'm more leaning in that direction than for this to just be a straight-up Garcia revenge plot.
Singles Match for the AEW TBS Championship: Mercedes Moné (c) (with Kamille) vs. Hikaru Shida
I don't care. At all. Shida hasn't been built up in any significant enough way to make me think she stands ANY chance at winning this title, and I haven't been digging what Mercedes has been doing in AEW. For two talented people to be in the ring together, I look at this and think there's nothing there for me to get invested in.
Tag Team Match for the AEW World Tag Team Championship: The Young Bucks (c) vs. Blackpool Combat Club (Claudio Castagnoli & Wheeler Yuta)
As I've been saying, The Elite shouldn't lose any of their titles for quite some time. Least of all, should that happen to the current trios champions. That would be superfluous. There have been enough double champions, and it isn't at all necessary for this go to in that direction. Castagnoli and Yuta can put up a good fight, but through some cheating method, Nicholas and Matthew Jackson need to come out on top.
Four-Way
Match for the AEW Continental Championship: Kazuchika Okada (c) vs. TBD
(Orange Cassidy or Bryan Keith) vs. TBD (Lance Archer or Mark Briscoe)
vs. TBD (Konosuke Takeshita or The Beast Mortos)
No matter which three opponents he fights (my prediction being Orange Cassidy, Mark Briscoe and Konosuke Takeshita), I can't imagine Okada is dropping the title here. If he does, it will be to Takeshita. But I'm going to beat my "The Elite shouldn't lose any titles for quite some time" drum for this event just like I've been doing.
