Without further ado, let's inspect the biggest takeaways of the week!

IMPACT WRESTLING: NOVEMBER 16, 2023 RESULTS

#5 - Most Professional Wrestling Rebels

In what may turn out to be Heath's last match for Impact, with news of the Red-Headed Rebel officially becoming a free agent a while back, he fought an uphill battle against Moose, accompanied as always by Brian Myers. This match certainly didn't reinvent the wheel, with Moose playing his usual cocky, powerful heel role, and Heath battling back valiantly, but it was entertaining nonetheless. The match's finish came when Heath would attempt to hit the Wake Up Call, but was unsuccessful due to Myers helping Moose hold onto the ropes. After this, Moose would hit his signature Spear to secure the pinfall.

After the bell, Moose and Myers would attack Heath, until Heath's friend and partner Rhyno made the save to a huge pop. After this segment, Moose would lay down the challenge to Rhyno for Final Resolution.

#4 - Easy As ABC, K.I.N.G.

In another potential final match for the company, the departing Kenny King traded in his Digital Media Championship rematch for a shot at thr Tag titles with his protege, Sheldon Jean, taking on the best branch of the Bullet Club, ABC. King and Jean have formed a well-oiled machine during their partnership, and that was evident here, in classic heel cheating, and in cool spots such as their Blockbuster/Neckbuster combo. But even before the news of King's release, there was little doubt here as to who would win.

ABC are as red hot as ever, and Ace and Bey delivered, dispatching of King and Jean with little difficulty after hitting the 1 2 Sweet. This opening match was a fun little affair. It won't be all that memorable, but not every match has to be. This did its job nicely.

#3 - Graceful Bullies

Former enemies came together in odd circumstances this week, as Bully Ray and Jordynne Grace took on Steve Maclin and KiLynn King in tag action. Despite their past differences, Ray and Grace had common enemies in Maclin and King. Maclin and Bully's friendship fell apart due to Bully being more worried about PCO than having Maclin's back, leading to Maclin branding him soft, which King, who was trained by Bully, agreed with. Ray would cost Maclin the Call Your Shot Gauntlet at Bound For Glory, where King would be one of the final participants before being outsed by Grace, who went on to win the match. Forming an odd but effective couple, Ray and Grace got the win.

After the match, it appeared Bully and Grace might come to blows, as a tug of war began between thw two when Bully went to hand Grace back her Call Your Shot trophy. After Grace snatched it back however, and after a tense staredown or two, Bully would shake Grace's hand, and then raise it in a sign of respect. It would appear, for now at least, that Bully's change of heart is genuine.

#2 - Grade AAA Fun

With Konann serving as a guest commentator, the lucha-filldd trio of Laredo Kidd, Black Taurus and the legend Juventud Guerrera took on the full-fusion Rascalz, with Myron Reed making his televised Impact debut. This was a Lucha Rules Trios match, meaning no one needed to tag in or out, and therefore, anyone could get the deciding pin or submission. This, along with the talent involved, lead to a highly entertaining, fast-paced match.

Juvy definitely still has it, and got a great pop from the Impact faithful here. Taurus was his usual deceptively agile self, and Laredo Kidd really, really should be signed to a big company by now. On the side of the heels, Wentz and Trey looked great as always, but the real star of their team, and arguably of the match, was Myron Reed. The former multi-time MLW Middleweight Champ had all the best spots here, a notable example being his Flame On cutter to the outside. Despite the Rascalz showing up with a full roster, they would however be unable to pick up the win. The match's MVP in Reed took the pin after Black Taurus hit Destination Hellhole.

#1 - Walking GOAT

We were teased with this match for weeks. Originally meant to be featured on the Fallout from BFG show, Impact fans, myself included, have been eagerly awaiting the chance to see Josh Alexander vs Will Ospreay, and my god, it didn't disappoint. Physical, expertly paced and with no clear winner in sight, this was as thrilling as you'd expect from a matchup between the two.

Alexander had Ospreay scouted for much of the match, countering his Enziguri into the Ankle Lock, countering a springboard into a Torture Rack Bomb, and the Stormbreaker into a Spinning Tombstone Piledriver, a la Justin Credible. Ospreay, despite tweaking his ankle after attempting a Corkscrew Moonsault, endured almost all that Alexander had to offer, throwing his own big bombs back. His springboard twisting kick connected flush, the Oscutter looked great as ever, and the Flying and regular Hidden Blades looked like a neurologist's worst nightmare. After hitting the Hidden Blade, and a Stormbreaker to put a bow on things, Ospreay got the win.

This match is on Impact's YouTube channel, in full, for free. I urge you, watch it. Hopefully after this, Alexander will get a lot more of the widespread appreciation he deserves.
