The WWE NXT Women's Championship has changed hands as Becky Lynch defeated Tiffany Stratton to win the title on the September 12, 2023 edition of NXT.
My immediate reaction: Oh damn! They actually did it. I just assumed Kiana James was going to interfere, cost Becky the match and it was just to pop a rating. Granted, I did say "it wouldn't shock me if they put the title on Becky to try to pop that rating even more and to have her cross that off her list of accolades so she can be a Grand Slam Champion" at one point in the past week, but I did think that was less of a chance than just Stratton retaining. Pretty neat, overall. It won't likely be a long title reign, and I'm sure Stratton will bounce back, so maybe this is even a sign that she'll be coming up to the main roster of all things. I'm curious who will be the next in line to take the title off Becky now, more than anything else.
Since this happened, be sure to check out the updated full list of title changes for this year and the list of current champions and my predictions for who will take the belts away from them.
