WWE Royal Rumble 2024 Spoilers

30-Man Royal Rumble Match (2024)

Confirmed Participants = Bobby Lashley, CM Punk, Cody Rhodes, Damian Priest, Drew McIntyre, Gunther, Kofi Kingston, Shinsuke Nakamura

Well, once CM Punk came back, it became pretty clear that he was going to win the Royal Rumble to challenge Seth Rollins. Once The Rock showed up and challenged Roman Reigns, it became even more obvious that there's no way Cody Rhodes is going to fight for the title at WrestleMania 40, and that the entire year since losing at WrestleMania 39 was spent doing side missions and avoiding Roman just because WWE doesn't care about "finishing the story" any more than they cared about Dolph Ziggler cutting promos about getting the respect he deserved and all the other people who do similar things.

In many ways, many fans will just be ecstatic that Punk is here and that he wins. The Cody element doesn't matter to them. And hell, they love The Rock, so they're  happy about that, too. For my personal tastes, I'm annoyed that Mania 39 went down the way it did, and that another year was wasted just to set up this stuff at WrestleMania.

I'm not annoyed that Punk will win this, even though I do think he's not going to have as good of a match at Mania as a lot of other people think he will. I wasn't loving his AEW stuff, and just because he's switched over to WWE doesn't give me any more faith that he's less injury prone or anything. But hey, it's going to get a pop, so that's all that WWE will care about. Well, that, and that Endeavor will be happy Rock and Roman are on the poster of WrestleMania. Meanwhile, Cody is going to be fighting Drew McIntyre or something in the opening match of night 2 or whatever and "tough shit, pal. Keep being the workhorse and maybe, we'll toss the title to you after Roman surpasses Hulk Hogan's record in September."

PREDICTION: CM Punk wins.

30-Woman Royal Rumble Match (2024)

Confirmed Participants = Bayley, Becky Lynch, Bianca Belair, Nia Jax

I am convinced Rhea Ripley will remain champion until WrestleMania 40, but I'm not sold on Iyo Sky keeping her title all the way to that point.

Ripley is going to fight Becky Lynch. I'm sold on that. Maybe that means Becky is the favorite to win. But Becky doesn't need to win the Royal Rumble for that to happen. She can win Elimination Chamber or a different No. 1 contender's match, especially if there ends up being a Saudi Arabia show in March.

Bayley could win the Royal Rumble and be in a position to turn on Iyo Sky. That's certainly one of the more engaging storylines they can tell.

But there's the Jade Cargill of it all. Does she win and challenge either Bianca Belair, if she were to win the title from Iyo? I wonder if Charlotte Flair was planned for anything and that had to be scrapped with her injury. We might never know.

I'm starting to put a little more faith in Bayley after Flair's injury, I'll say that.

PREDICTION: Bayley wins to challenge Iyo Sky if she's holding it. Jade Cargill wins to challenge Bianca Belair if she manages to get the title. Otherwise, it's just a simple Becky Lynch win to challenge Rhea Ripley.

Fatal 4-Way Match for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship: Roman Reigns (c) vs. AJ Styles vs. LA Knight vs. Randy Orton

Let me guess. Roman Reigns gets taken out at the beginning of the match. The other three guys wrestle 90% of the match. Fans spend the whole time thinking "oh my god, the belt is going to change hands, because Roman isn't here and he doesn't have to be pinned!" And then, at the very end, Reigns comes back out, hits a spear (probably on Styles or Knight), gets the pin, retains the title, and we don't see him in action again until WrestleMania, as in the meantime, the only real plan will be that The Rock will cut a promo at Elimination Chamber, while Reigns will make his next appearance on SmackDown sometime at the end of February or beginning of March.

PREDICTION: Roman Reigns obviously retains.

United States Championship Match: Logan Paul (c) vs. Kevin Owens

Owens is great. Paul is a lot of fun. This is a featured match that will deliver. I'm down. It's as simple as that.

PREDICTION: Logan Paul retains.
