Points of Impact Wrestling June 8, 2023 Results and Biggest Moments

Posted by Cherry Turner Friday, June 9, 2023

Welcome to another edition of POINTS OF IMPACT—a breakdown of the top moments of this week's edition of Impact Wrestling.

This segment will fill you in on the most important parts of the show worth checking out or keeping up to date with, in case you missed this episode of Impact Wrestling.

Without further ado, let's inspect the biggest takeaways of the week!

IMPACT WRESTLING: JUNE 8, 2023 RESULTS

#5 - Generational Talent, Dominant Win

Trey Miguel faced Bhupinder Gujjar in non title action this week, and while the result of the bout was never really in question, it was entertaining nonetheless. Gujjar continues to get more and more over with the crowd, and more compelling in-ring. After a run back and forth, Trey picked up the win with his kick/Lightning Spiral combination.

After the bell, he cut a standard Miguel promo, calling himself a generational talent.

#4 - I Believe In…Mended Noses

Digital Media Champion Joe Hendry was back in action this week, defending his title once more against the man who broke his nose, Sheldon Jean, accompanied as always by Kenny King. The two had another good match, Hendry retaining with the Standing Ovation.

After the bell, Hendry would call out Dirty Dango, who was the latest recipient of a Joe Hendry music video. After the video however, Hendry was attacked by Jean, King and Dango. Santino Marella would make the save, hitting Sheldon Jean with the Cobra.

#3 - Creative Wake Up Call

It feels nice to say there finally seems to be some creative direction for Heath again in Impact wrestling. A simple one-two punch of booking re-established Heath on this week’s Impact. Heath would cut a promo backstage about his plans for revenge, saying he intended to win the 8-4-1 match at Against All Odds, and go on to challenge Steve Maclin at Slammiversary, wanting to win the title and avenge his partner Rhyno. But first, he had to dish out revenge to Champagne Singh, and Heath did just that.

It might be the contrast of being so used to seeing Heath as the one taking the fall for others, but it felt refreshing to see him convincingly and handily defeat Singh. More of this please.

#2 - Near Death Dollz

The Coven narrowly escaped with their Knockouts Tag Team Championships this week, after an engaging title defence against the new Death Dollz. Having earned this shot at the champs after a non title win at Under Siege, Courtney Rush and Jessicka brought as much of their A game as could be expected from a “new” team, with Rush even making Wilde tap to the Sharpshooter at one point.

The referee didn’t see this however, thanks to the distractful antics of KiLynn King. Not long after, King and Wilde picked up the win with a Spinebuster/Big Boot combination.

#1 - Another Week, Another Main Event Tag

In another preview of this week’s upcoming 8-4-1 match, the team of Rich Swann and Moose took on Nick Aldis and Jonathan Gresham. The theme of the match was former allies Moose and Rich Swann failing to get along, with Swann wanting nothing to do with Moose’s heelish antics. The match would end in favour of Swann and Moose however, as Moose picked up the win with a powerbomb to Gresham.

After the bell, it broke down into a massive brawl, Swann attacking Moose, Aldis and Heath getting into it, etc. Bully Ray made an appearance, but he was chased off by PCO, who ended up being the one standing tall at the end of the night.
