WWE NXT Vengeance Day 2023 Spoilers and Predictions

NXT Championship Steel Cage Match: Bron Breakker (c) vs. Grayson Waller

There's a chance Waller wins the title. How big of a chance? Well, considering I've been saying for a while that Carmelo Hayes is more of my pick to be the next champion than Waller (who was my #2 for the longest time), and then, they've had Hayes say he's going for the championship next, essentially, I'm basically putting Waller's chances to win at something like 20%. But hey, that's much higher than anyone else has gotten to at this point.

Waller will probably be up on the main roster after WrestleMania, instead.

PREDICTION: Bron Breakker retains.

NXT Women's Championship Triple Threat Match: Roxanne Perez (c) vs. Gigi Dolin vs. Jacy Jayne

Couldn't just move away from this and do something new? That's disappointing.

They've been playing heavily into the idea that Dolin and Jayne don't get along, while perpetually saying that it's all an act. That means either the real twist here is that they DO split up wholly, or they merely have yet another temporary miscommunication error that happens in all Triple Threat matches like this, where one will go for a pin, the other will be pissed about it, and they'll start fighting each other. But that doesn't necessarily mean they officially split as a team beyond this point. They could very well fight in this match, then go back to normal.

I don't want to see them split up. I'd rather see them stick together and go up to the main roster, possibly with a new frontwoman like Chelsea Green.

PREDICTION: Roxanne Perez retains.

NXT North American Championship Match: Wes Lee (c) vs. Dijak

Not having Tony D'Angelo in here is surprising. I thought this would be the Triple Threat match, rather than the women's title situation. Maybe Dijak is just outright winning the belt. Otherwise, if he loses already to Lee, it'll really hurt his push.

Maybe they plan on having D'Angelo interfere to cost Dijak to prevent him from looking too weak. But they also haven't done much to indicate that. Unless Stacks plans on using his power as the underboss to exact that sort of revenge on D'Angelo's behalf. But even that hasn't been directly teased.

I'm not interested in Wes Lee retaining clean, I'll say that. Give the belt to Dijak.

PREDICTION: I'm 50/50, leaning toward a title change.

NXT Tag Team Championship Fatal 4-Way Match: The New Day (c) vs. Gallus vs. Pretty Deadly vs. Chase University

Here I thought they avoided D'Angelo/Lee/Dijak because they didn't want another Triple Threat beyond the women's match. Then, they go ahead and do this, and eventually add even a fourth team. Strange. I don't think The New Day were meant to have a long title reign, but I'm not positive I'd bank on them dropping the belts here. I still think Indus Sher stands a good chance to beat them down the line, possibly at Stand & Deliver. Frankly, I'm surprised The Dyad isn't in this match. They had a good shot to take the titles in my mind. But with this crew, I think The New Day will retain. It wouldn't shock me if Gallus or Pretty Deadly won, but I'm not banking on it.

PREDICTION: I'll go with The New Day retaining, even though I wouldn't be shocked if The Dyad or even Gallus walked out with the titles.

2-out-of-3 Falls Match: Apollo Crews vs. Carmelo Hayes

Two solid in-ring performers putting on a match that will be focused on their in-ring performances? I'm down. Hayes should get the win here so that he can be declared the No. 1 contender heading into what I'm assuming is Bron Breakker's defense at Stand & Deliver.

PREDICTION: Carmelo Hayes wins.

NXT Women's Tag Team Championship Match: Katana Chance and Kayden Carter (c) vs. Fallon Henley and Kiana James

Henley and James are somewhat on the same page, which is great. But that is either going to not be enough, or fall apart completely here. Those tag team titles are heading in a one-way direction toward Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn, instead, and I think that's happening at Stand & Deliver.

PREDICTION: Katana Chance and Kayden Carter retain.

This page will be altered on a regular basis to reflect changes to the show including any new matches added to the lineup, adjustments to the card, revised predictions and any other information about this event. Stay tuned for the latest updates!
