WWE NXT Vengeance Day 2023 Results

NXT North American Championship Match: Wes Lee (c) vs. Dijak

RESULT: Wes Lee won by pinfall.
THOUGHTS: Very good opening match. This was a lot of fun. I'm disappointed Dijak didn't win, but I'll take the result knowing that they had Tony D'Angelo and Stacks interfering, which gives Dijak an out instead of looking too weak.

NXT Women's Tag Team Championship Match: Katana Chance and Kayden Carter (c) vs. Fallon Henley and Kiana James

RESULT: Fallon Henley and Kiana James won the titles by pinfall!
THOUGHTS: Kiana James held down Kayden Carter's feet for the pinfall, unbeknownst to Fallon Henley. That will be your story going forward. But no referee is coming out to say the match has to continue or anything, so this will likely stick. Good match. Even bigger fan of the outcome.

2-out-of-3 Falls Match: Apollo Crews vs. Carmelo Hayes

RESULT: Carmelo Hayes won the first fall by submission. He won the next decision by pinfall to sweep the match.
THOUGHTS: Important to note that during this match, Commander Azeez returned to help Apollo Crews fight off the outside interference from Trick Williams, but they called him Dabba-Kato. Ultimately, it wasn't all that helpful, as Crews didn't even get a single decision. After the match, Dabba-Kato turned on Crews and laid him out. That was a little strange how they went about that.

NXT Tag Team Championship Fatal 4-Way Match: The New Day (c) vs. Gallus vs. Pretty Deadly vs. Chase University

RESULT: Gallus won the titles by pinfall over The New Day.
THOUGHTS: Boooooooo. This was my lowest of all four options. I don't dislike Gallus, but they're the team that I think offer the least interesting future for the tag team division.

NXT Women's Championship Triple Threat Match: Roxanne Perez (c) vs. Gigi Dolin vs. Jacy Jayne

RESULT: Roxanne Perez retained by pinfall over Jayne.
THOUGHTS: Solid enough match for a concept that I think they didn't need to go down. I wasn't on board with this Toxic Attraction handicap match that would definitely devolve into a Triple Threat from the start. It's time for Dolin and Jayne to move on and for Roxanne to feud with someone else.

NXT Championship Steel Cage Match: Bron Breakker (c) vs. Grayson Waller

RESULT: Bron Breakker retained by pinfall.
THOUGHTS: Solid match. Not memorable.
