WWE NXT Stand & Deliver 2023 Spoilers |
NXT Championship Match: Bron Breakker (c) vs. Carmelo Hayes
It's time. Breakker needs to lose the title. Hayes is the right choice to go with, too, as he's proven himself capable of a strong title reign with his time as North American champion. Breakker should be moving up to Raw or SmackDown (my preference would be SmackDown) following WrestleMania, so this can be his swan song.
PREDICTION: Carmelo Hayes wins.
Unsanctioned Match: Grayson Waller vs. Johnny Gargano
This is going to be good. I'm so down for this random special match. Waller's fun, Gargano's awesome, and this should be a perfect send-off for Waller on the brand before moving up to the main roster (hopefully).
NXT Women's Championship Ladder Match: Roxanne Perez (c) vs. Gigi Dolin vs. Indi Hartwell vs. Lyra Valkyria vs. Tiffany Stratton vs. Zoey Stark
I think we're looking at Tiffany Stratton coming out with the belt. I can't picture this being a vehicle for Lyra Valkyria, Indi Hartwell or Gigi Dolin to win, for instance. Zoey Stark has a chance, for sure, but not as much, in my mind, as Stratton. Roxanne Perez retaining is certainly a possibility, but with this whole story about her going in not at 100%, I think they're going to use that as a means to get the belt off her.
PREDICTION: Tiffany Stratton wins.
NXT Women's Tag Team Championship Match: Fallon Henley and Kiana James (c) vs. Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn
New champs. For sure. Henley and James won the belts to tell the story of their breakup. Fyre and Dawn are in a much better position to work this side of the division. Plus, we've seen how short these tag title runs for the women's division in NXT tend to be. Henley and James have already held the belts way longer than most others before them.
NXT North American Championship Fatal 5-Way Match: Wes Lee (c) vs. Axiom vs. Dragon Lee vs. Ilja Dragunov vs. JD McDonagh
Is it a cop out to say I think Lee wins without specifying between Wes and Dragon?
I lean a little more toward Wes Lee retaining to prove himself; especially since I think other belts are changing hands.
While I could see a case being made for Dragunov or McDonagh, I don't think Axiom stands much of a chance. Even if Wes Lee retains, he could still drop the belt to the other guys in this match at a later date. But unless the last episode of NXT includes something that makes me regret the pick, I'll stick with Wes retaining and Dragon Lee being my backup option.
NXT Tag Team Championship Triple Threat Match: Gallus (c) vs. The Creed Brothers vs. Tony D'Angelo and Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo
I sound like a broken record, but I think this belt could also be changing hands. Both challenging teams would be more interesting than Gallus, in my mind. That's not to say I dislike Gallus. I just happen to think their current characters are a little flat and the division was hotter before they won the titles.
But I'll admit that while part of me thinks D'Angelo and Stacks are in this match specifically to win it, another part says "they just wanted to get them on the card somehow" and that I'm wrong about the title change, and it will just stay on Gallus until Indus Sher wins it from them.
Mixed Tag Team Match: Chase University (Andre Chase, Duke Hudson, Thea Hail and Tyler Bate) vs. Schism (Joe Gacy, Ava Raine, Jagger Reid, Rip Fowler)
How many matches are on this card?! Jeez. Obviously, with this stipulation that the winning team has control over Chase University, this has to go to Schism.
I'm curious to see Ava Raine finally in action. I expect Duke Hudson to lose this for Chase University and walk out on them or possibly even fully join Schism.
This page will be altered on a regular basis to reflect changes to the show including any new matches added to the lineup, adjustments to the card, revised predictions and any other information about this event. Stay tuned for the latest updates!
