WWE Money in the Bank 2023 Spoilers |
Men's Money in the Bank Ladder Match: Butch vs. LA Knight vs. Logan Paul vs. Ricochet vs. Santos Escobar vs. Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Damian Priest
This is a weak group. Don't get me wrong, I'm actually a fan of ALL of them. But there isn't a single one of them that gives me the impression they are remotely close to cashing in and winning any of the world titles.
Because here's the thing. Roman Reigns clearly isn't going to lose his championship, especially after they just gave him the undisputed title update. Seth Rollins isn't going to lose the World Heavyweight Championship anytime TOO soon. So while technically, someone like LA Knight could win Money in the Bank, wait a few months, cash in and beat Seth Rollins after the summer months pass by, I don't have a lot of faith WWE plans on doing all that much of a build OR using MITB properly. They seem very dead set on MITB and Royal Rumble being chances that come up short, lately.
And now that Logan Paul's been added, I think he's their go-to pick. Not having him around every week makes it easier to excuse why he's not cashing in on any particular given night. When he does, they'll get some media coverage for that. Plus, he can fail his cash-in attempt and people won't be upset, particularly if Seth Rollins simply retains over him and it's a "gotcha" moment.
PREDICTION: Logan Paul wins.
Women's Money in the Bank Ladder Match: Bayley vs. Becky Lynch vs. Iyo Sky vs. Trish Stratus vs. Zelina Vega vs. Zoey Stark
Will there be a seventh woman to balance out how there are seven for the men? Maybe. Maybe not. If so, I'd imagine Raquel Rodriguez will win some "last chance battle royal" or something.
If we're limited to just this crop, I think we're looking at Iyo Sky winning and challenging Asuka, or Becky Lynch winning to challenge Rhea Ripley in a straight-up match, rather than an advantageous cash-in happening. I think we'll FINALLY break the curse of the women's briefcase-holder not being able to last more than a few days without using their opportunity, this year.
World Heavyweight Championship Match: Seth Rollins (c) vs. Finn Balor
Balor is a viable enough challenger for this early stage in Seth's run. No chance at all Balor wins the belt, but that's not what this is about. It's just a means to get someone from the UK-ish region in the match, have a good 15 minute in-ring fest, and then have Rollins come out strong. They'll get that job done.
Cody Rhodes vs. Dominik Mysterio
Dom is a fun character and all, but this is SUCH a waste of Cody Rhodes. It also flies in the face of how he keeps saying he wants to "finish the story", but he isn't even attempting to get in the Money in the Bank ladder match? Why is this the second detour after Brock Lesnar when he should've been wanting a rematch with Roman Reigns? So lame. They already did this match on Raw, too, so I don't really see why this is happening.
Undisputed Women's Tag Team Championship Match: Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler (c) vs. Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez
PREDICTION: Rousey and Baszler retain.
Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa vs. The Usos
Gotta stall for a couple more months and avoid Roman Reigns defending his titles, right? I'm honestly so over the tension within The Bloodline and this waiting period of just killing time until Roman hits the next milestone. Do something different. I just think The Usos are going to lose this and fall back in line and we'll be stuck where we were before Mania.
Intercontinental Championship Match: Gunther (c) vs. Matt Riddle
Riddle is exactly the type of person perfect for Gunther to beat right now. He's established himself as an upper-midcard part of the roster who can take a loss straight-up and still bounce back. Gunther needs to beat several of those guys on his way toward the legit main event. I'm all for this. This match should be good, too.
