WWE Money in the Bank 2023 Results |
Men's Money in the Bank Ladder Match: Butch vs. Damian Priest vs. LA Knight vs. Logan Paul vs. Ricochet vs. Santos Escobar vs. Shinsuke Nakamura
RESULT: Damian Priest won the briefcase.THOUGHTS: Good match. Not one of the most memorable by any means, and I'm sure some people will be pissed about the outcome, but I enjoyed it.
Undisputed Women's Tag Team Championship Match: Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler (c) vs. Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez
RESULT: Raquel Rodriguez and Liv Morgan won the titles by pinfall!
THOUGHTS: What??? So they wanted Ronda and Shayna to win those titles at WrestleMania. They couldn't have that, so they danced around it. Then, when they got the chance, they put the belts on them, just so they could unify the NXT tag titles, just so they could immediately feud with each other?? There really is NO patience for the tag team division in WWE. They just want singles feuds. Insane.
Intercontinental Championship Match: Gunther (c) vs. Matt Riddle
RESULT: Gunther retained by submission.
THOUGHTS: Good to see Gunther getting more moves to end matches with. Admittedly, the match itself wasn't as good as I was hoping it would be, though.
Drew McIntyre is out for a surprise return to confront Gunther and take him out with a headbutt and a Claymore.
Cody Rhodes vs. Dominik Mysterio
RESULT: Cody Rhodes won by pinfall.
THOUGHTS: Outside of some interference from Rhea Ripley ringside, this was just a normal match. Even when Brock Lesnar most likely comes out in a minute to attack Cody, it still doesn't convince me this was a viable enough alternative to Cody winning that belt at Mania. Nothing's been worth it since then.
Or....John Cena will come out! Okay, that's a surprise. He's pumped. Crowd's loving it. He points out this is the first pay-per-view in England in 20 years and that "the decision makers" think these crowds hijack the show and whatnot. Why's Cena here? He wants the world to know that this crowd is underappreciated. "Thank you Cena" chant erupts. He wants the crowd to let the people in the back know what WrestleMania would sound like in London. Out comes Grayson Waller to interrupt and badmouth the crowd, say Mania should go to Australia instead and Cena should be his guest on The Grayson Waller Effect. Waller hits Cena from behind, but naturally, Cena gives him an Attitude Adjustment.
Women's Money in the Bank Ladder Match: Bayley vs. Becky Lynch vs. Iyo Sky vs. Trish Stratus vs. Zelina Vega vs. Zoey Stark
RESULT: Iyo Sky won the briefcase.
THOUGHTS: Naturally, it was sloppy. Not a BAD match, but let's be honest, if you think this was as good as the men's or anything, you're off your rocker.
World Heavyweight Championship Match: Seth Rollins (c) vs. Finn Balor
RESULT: Seth Rollins retained by pinfall.THOUGHTS: The most interesting thing was naturally Damian Priest coming out to tease a cash-in, inadvertently distracting Balor and costing him the win.
Bloodline Civil War: Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa vs. The Usos
RESULT: The Usos won by pinfall.THOUGHTS: Meh. Look, I know Jey pinning Roman is a big deal, but it's just going to lead to him losing a title shot at SummerSlam and we're back to where we were a few years ago. That's not a journey I think needs to be gushed over, to be honest. But hey, it was a fine enough match in a bubble. For many people, that's good enough.
