AEW Double or Nothing 2023 Results

I'm doing coverage of this and NXT Battleground at the same time. My attention is split. Hopefully, I don't miss anything all too important, but if I do, let me know!

[Buy In] Trios Match: Ethan Page and The Gunns vs. The Hardy Party

RESULT: Hook and The Hardy Boyz won by submission.
THOUGHTS: It was just a generic match. Nothing super special or memorable or noteworthy.

AEW International Championship 21-Man Blackjack Battle Royale Match

RESULT: Orange Cassidy retained by last eliminating Swerve Strickland.
THOUGHTS: I'm a fan of battle royals. Thumbs up, especially since Orange Cassidy retained his title.

Unsanctioned Match: Adam Cole vs. Chris Jericho

RESULT: Adam Cole won by referee stoppage.
THOUGHTS: Not as bombastic as I was hoping, I'll admit. But it was fine. Cole should come out of this the new No. 1 contender to fight MJF.

AEW World Tag Team Championship Match: FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) (c) vs. Jeff Jarrett and Jay Lethal

RESULT: FTR retained their titles by pinfall.
THOUGHTS: Generic. This was textbook stuff. Totally fine, but nothing noteworthy.

AEW TNT Championship Ladder Match: Wardlow (c) vs. Christian Cage

RESULT: Wardlow retained.
THOUGHTS: Solid match. Good spot from Wardlow doing the Swanton Bomb. Scary moment with the collapsing ladder. I'm not sure why Arn Anderson biting Luchasaurus's finger was part of this, but hey.

AEW Women's World Championship Match: Jamie Hayter (c) vs. Toni Storm

RESULT: Toni Storm won the title by pinfall!
THOUGHTS: I wasn't able to watch nearly any of this. But to be fair, I wasn't interested in watching it, anyway. I've been over the whole Baker/Hater/Storm/Saraya/Rosa/Shida etc combination for nearly a year.

AEW World Trios Championship Open House Match: The House of Black (c) vs. The Acclaimed

RESULT: The House of Black retained by pinfall.
THOUGHTS: I missed a good portion of this. Why was Max Caster not even involved for most, if not all of it? It seemed like Anthony Bowens was getting beaten down for a good chunk of it, then Billy Gunn got tagged in and ultimately ate a kick from Malakai Black to lose.

AEW TBS Championship Match: Jade Cargill (c) vs. Taya Valkyrie

RESULT: Jade Cargill retained by pinfall.
THOUGHTS: There were a few moments here where the crowd was thinking the belt was about to change hands. Obviously, it didn't. But Mark Sterling is cutting a promo now to set up someone to come out and....that person is Kris Statlander!

Impromptu follow-up match!

AEW TBS Championship Match: Jade Cargill (c) vs. Kris Statlander

RESULT: Kris Statlander won the title by pinfall!
THOUGHTS: This obviously wasn't much of a match, but it certainly was a moment. Very cool.

AEW World Championship Four Pillars Four-Way Match: MJF (c) vs. Darby Allin vs. Jungle Boy Jack Perry vs. Sammy Guevara

RESULT: MJF retained his title by pinfall on Allin.
THOUGHTS: Fantastic match. Loved it.

Anarchy in the Arena Match: Blackpool Combat Club (Bryan Danielson, Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta) vs. The Elite (Kenny Omega, Matt Jackson, Nick Jackson and "Hangman" Adam Page)

RESULT: Blackpool Combat Club won by pinfall (Yuta pinned Omega) with some help from Konosuke Takeshita and Don Callis.
THOUGHTS: I absolutely hated how they kept the Wild Thing song going as long as they did. But once that stopped, this fight ruled.
