AEW All In 2023 Spoilers |
AEW World Championship Match: MJF (c) vs. Adam Cole
I'm very surprised this announcement went down with these two just buds, instead of any kind of turn. That's infinitely more interesting to me than the obvious breakdown of their partnership. And now that Roderick Strong could be involved with The Kingdom on top of that, thumbs up for sure.
I'm a little surprised, as well, that this is happening here, rather than at All Out. I just assumed they'd be in a different match. That has me wondering if there's an angle that will go down here so that they can do another match at All Out with the same two. Maybe MJF cheats to win in a way that prompts a gimmick match a few weeks later?
In any fashion, I think MJF is keeping that belt.
PREDICTION: MJF retains.
AEW Women's World Championship Four-Way Match: Hikaru Shida (c) vs. Toni Storm vs. Saraya vs. Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D.
Putting the title on Shida could very well have been done just to stall, give people something to talk about on the 200th episode, and nothing more. That would potentially indicate Storm could merely win this back and everything come full circle. Don't count out that option.
But I think it's even more likely that Shida retains and it could be as a result of Saraya and Storm getting into some sort of miscommunication. Ultimately, this whole Outcasts thing has to go somewhere and it can't just be Baker and Hayter fighting them for 100 years. Maybe it's time to just split them up already.
PREDICTION: Hikaru Shida retains.
AEW World Tag Team Championship Match: FTR (c) vs. The Young Bucks
This will be one of those matches everyone just wants to see because of the performers, both teams will play babyface for their side of the fandom, and the winners should be based on more than just ego.
Another way of saying that is "I'm hoping The Young Bucks don't book themselves to win just for the sake of it, and they are satisfied with having a great match, but coming up short and shaking hands after."
Tag Team Coffin Match: Darby Allin and Sting vs. Christian Cage and Swerve Strickland
The whole idea of this feud basically revolving around AR Fox, just to swap him out of the match and treat it like a precursor to All Out's TNT title match makes me laugh. I know some people are going to be desperately hoping Edge pops up, but I don't think that's going to happen. I do expect interference from Fox and/or Nick Wayne, though, among others.
Give Darby Allin and Sting the win here, and then, Luchasaurus probably retains at All Out.
[Zero Hour] ROH World Tag Team Championship Match: Aussie Open (c) vs. Adam Cole and MJF
Having this match take place on the same night as their title match is very intriguing. I would have thought this would be the only All In match for them, and then, they'd save the world title match for All Out. Very, very curious what the plan is here. I could imagine a scenario where they win the titles, just so that it creates even more controversy. Then again, I could easily see a situation where they fail to win the tag belts and that equally causes controversy because they split as a team, making their title match more heated—especially if MJF were to do something to attack Cole and leave him limping before their match or something, rendering the need for yet another match at All Out.
Needless to say, I've got my eye on this. It's one of the most interesting things going on for this card.
Trios Match: The Golden Elite (Kenny Omega, Kota Ibushi and Hangman Adam Page) vs. Bullet Club Gold (Jay White and Juice Robinson) and Konosuke Takeshita
This is one of many matches that feels like it's leftovers from what's already happened and AEW is just stretching it out by switching up the dance partners a tad. Glass half empty, it's a bit boring to just do this. Glass half full? People in the audience are going to cream themselves just because they're seeing these 6 people competing live.
Stadium Stampede Match: Eddie Kingston, Penta El Zero Miedo, and Best Friends (Orange Cassidy, Trent Beretta and Chuck Taylor) vs. Blackpool Combat Club (Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta), Santana and Ortiz
Similar to the Golden Elite match, this feels like a collection of people tossed together. That's especially true with the whole idea that Rey Fenix was taken out from travel issues. I wonder what the original plan was for the extra person on the BCC side that isn't going to be there anymore. At least, they won't be there as an official member of the team, but they could very well still interfere and cost the babyfaces the win. In fact, I'll go so far as to say that that happens.
Chris Jericho vs. Will Ospreay
Yup. We knew we were getting this, and it makes all the sense in the world to put this on the card. While it isn't going to be as good as it would have been in Jericho's prime, I'm sure they're going to put on the best possible show they can.
Ospreay needs to win. He's the one with more to lose and more to gain. Jericho can stand to get humbled with this new babyface turn, too.
"Real World Championship" Match: CM Punk (c) vs. Samoa Joe
I think this would be much cooler if they hadn't already fought in the Owen Hart Cup tournament. Or if the title was real. Or if this was 10 years ago. As is, it's fine, but I think both could be doing something more interesting.
AEW World Trios Championship Match: House of Black vs. The Acclaimed and Billy Gunn
I'm down for The Acclaimed and Billy Gunn winning these titles, but I don't think that will be the case. House of Black suit me as even longer-term champions, and this could be more of a swan song for Gunn than about continuing his in-ring career so much to the point that he's a champion.
[Zero Hour] FTW Championship Match: Jack Perry (c) vs. Hook
Ultimately, the belt should go back to Hook at some point. Whether that happens here and it's already the end of this story with Perry holding the title, or they continue to keep it on JP and revisit this later down the road, I'm not sure. It feels a bit too soon to just call it quits, and I'd like to see what else they can do with Perry holding this belt and making it more of a hardcore title, but who's to say they can't just have that be the direction of the belt with other people?
I'm hesitant to just say Hook wins, the feud ends and that's it. But while my gut says not to trust that, my brain says what I want to happen is Hook wins, continues to fight people in more hardcore matches, and we get something in the future where the FTW belt is retired and renamed something like the AEW Hardcore Championship and other people like Jon Moxley can make it their own, while Hook goes down in the record books as the final FTW champion.
PREDICTION: Hook wins.
