The WWE SmackDown Women's Championship has changed hands as Charlotte Flair defeated Ronda Rousey to win the title on the December 30, 2022 episode of Friday Night SmackDown.
My immediate reaction: Oooooooookay. I didn't expect that to happen. I'm not sure how I feel about babyface Flair immediately winning the title prior to Mania season, but I can say I'm probably a LOT more positive about it than most people. I wasn't interested in the slightest bit in seeing Ronda Rousey fight Becky Lynch again. While there's a chance this is just Flair against Rousey and/or Lynch continued, which will annoy me, there's also a chance something more interesting goes down. Granted, I also was hoping for Flair against Belair, but if this means Belair fights Rhea Ripley or something else interesting...this could be great.
Since this happened, be sure to check out the updated full list of title changes for this year and the list of current champions and my predictions for who will take the belts away from them.
