The WWE Women's Tag Team Championship has changed hands as Damage CTRL's Dakota Kai and Iyo Sky defeated Alexa Bliss and Asuka to win the titles at Crown Jewel on November 5, 2022.
My immediate reaction: So you gave the titles to Raquel Rodriguez and Aliyah just to go "gotcha" and give them to Damage CTRL the next minute, only to have them drop the belts to Alexa Bliss and Asuka (who they've been feuding with the whole time really anyway), just to then turn around a few days later and reset it again? This hot potato thing doesn't help anyone out. It doesn't help the feud stop losing steam and it doesn't mean anything to the winners outside of adding something to their technical records. But just to say "I'm a 3x women's tag team champion, and one of those reigns will be completely forgotten that it even existed" isn't something great, is it? I'm not opposed to quick title reigns when it makes sense, but this feels SO superfluous, and it's a shame these women's tag team titles haven't once ever been booked correctly unless they were on Bayley and Sasha Banks during a pandemic when nobody else was available.
Since this happened, be sure to check out the updated full list of title changes for this year and the list of current champions and my predictions for who will take the belts away from them.
