Welcome to another edition of CALL THE SPOT ON THE CARD, where we present a list of wrestlers and you must choose what place on the WWE Roster Hierarchy they should be put in: 1) Main Event, 2) Upper Midcard, 3) Midcard, 4) Jobber, or 5) Released.
The rules are that each spot must be filled and only one person can be in each spot, so no ties can happen, nor can anyone opt out. No matter how difficult it might be, you have to pick.
Per usual for Survivor Series, this edition will actually feature multiple separate lists based on the teams from the different brands ranked among their teammates.
2022 WOMEN'S SURVIVOR SERIES WARGAMES MATCH
BIANCA BELAIR'S BABYFACE TEAM = Alexa Bliss vs. Asuka vs. Becky Lynch vs. Bianca Belair vs. Mia Yim
DAMAGE CTRL = Bayley vs. Dakota Kai vs. Iyo Sky vs. Nikki Cross vs. Rhea Ripley
5) RELEASED = Mia Yim / Dakota Kai
If I were to release anyone, the one that I feel would be the most beneficial to AEW without hurting WWE the most would be Michin. I still think she should be at the very least midcard level. But hey, you gotta cut someone. Might as well be someone who could walk into AEW and win the women's title and upgrade her career, right?
I was 50/50 on this being Cross or Kai, both for the same reasons. I think Cross has peaked in WWE, but she could be the top woman in another promotion. Kai could do the same, and seems to not be someone who WWE would push to the Raw or SmackDown Women's Championship. Ultimately, since Cross already won a top women's title in WWE, I opted to keep her there, while Kai (in this imaginary scenario) can achieve her goal elsewhere.
Obviously, though, I wouldn't want any of these women to be released. I'm a fan of all of them.
4) JOBBER = Alexa Bliss / Nikki Cross
I'm more of an Alexa Bliss fan than a lot, but I think her strength is in her promos, not her in-ring acumen. She can definitely be the best jobber of this bunch and talk her way out of all her losses.
Cross works well as either the heel who people can beat on their way to the main event scene or the lovable babyface who you still root for despite her continual losing. That's a perfect jobber spot, particularly when the three others here are overall bigger deals in my mind.
3) MIDCARD = Asuka / Bayley
Nobody's ready for Asuka, except when she loses. I'd rather her be the level she was at in NXT, but the nature of this game makes difficult decisions.
It might seem like blasphemy to have Bayley this low, but I think she's in a spot in her career where if she were the top champion, I would feel like there are some others I'd rather see hold the title and get a reign than to revisit what we've already seen before. She could elevate others into the main event and still be a great contributor in the midcard.
2) UPPER MIDCARD = Becky Lynch / Iyo Sky
In the grand scheme of things, Becky's had her time. Bianca hasn't been on top as long. I'm more interested in Belair as champion than Becky, if not just because Becky can put other people over in the process of making more stars. But this is a great group of talent, so they should all be at least upper-midcard.
Iyo Sky would normally be the Main Event pick for me on a lot of lists, but there's one bigger fish to fry who not only is more believable, but I tend to just enjoy more. Sky's no slouch, though. I'd like to see her win the Raw or SmackDown Women's Championship at some point. For now, she can settle for second place.
1) MAIN EVENT = Bianca Belair / Rhea Ripley
Previously stated, Belair's run as The EST of WWE isn't ready to take a downturn yet in my book.
Rhea Ripley hasn't come anywhere close to tapping into her potential on the main roster, despite being Raw women's champion. WWE perpetually seems to push her to the sidelines in favor of others, with the idea in mind that she'll come around eventually. Ripley definitely shouldn't have lost so many times to Charlotte Flair. That derailed her momentum and I don't know why they did that. Give her the belt. She's great.
2022 MEN'S SURVIVOR SERIES WARGAMES MATCH
THE BLOODLINE = Jey Uso vs. Jimmy Uso vs. Roman Reigns vs. Sami Zayn vs. Solo Sikoa
ANTI-BLOODLINE BABYFACE TEAM = Butch vs. Drew McIntyre vs. Kevin Owens vs. Ridge Holland vs. Sheamus
5) RELEASED = Nobody / Ridge Holland
I'm copping out and not having a Bloodline answer for this, as The Usos are just too tied together, with the excuse that they have enough control to bully me into this. Okay, okay, if I had to pick, I'd probably release Solo Sikoa just because he's the one that would make the least amount of waves in comparison.
Releasing Ridge Holland is the one that changes the landscape the least, too. It's as simple as that.
4) JOBBER = Solo Sikoa / Butch
With my cop out "non-answer", that boosts Solo Sikoa up to this spot. However, if we go with the Solo release thing, then take your pick of one of The Usos. Maybe Jimmy, since Jey's been more of a focal point?
Pete Dunne shouldn't be a jobber. But on this list, "Butch" can be. That petulant kid raised by wolves type character, while he's almost always the smallest guy in the fight, is the only one of the bunch that I buy into being the enhancement talent, even though we all know how great Pete Dunne is.
3) MIDCARD = The Usos / Sheamus
Again, let's put both of The Usos in here. If I have to just pick one, I'll go Main Event Jey.
Sheamus is a future Hall of Fame headliner, like The Usos. But if he, Owens and McIntyre had to draw straws where one took a series of losses to make the others look stronger, The Celtic Warrior's the one I'd sacrifice to lift the others up.
2) UPPER MIDCARD = Sami Zayn / Kevin Owens
Sami Zayn is amazing as both a heel and babyface. I'm really hoping he wins a world title some day.
Gah. It guts me to put Kevin Owens here. But I just have to rank Drew McIntyre higher until Owens fully bounces back into being the type of character he was when he first went into NXT. That's my top Owens. Not the babyface version.
1) MAIN EVENT = Roman Reigns / Drew McIntyre
Duh. It's Roman Reigns. Of course he would be in this spot.
McIntyre is among the biggest guys in WWE. He's been made virtually for the rest of his career after beating Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania. With Clash at the Castle, he had a lot of people convinced he was the right guy to beat Roman Reigns. That speaks volumes.
WHO WOULD YOU PUT IN WHICH SPOTS?
