The WWE United States Championship has changed hands as Seth Rollins defeated Bobby Lashley to win the title on the October 10, 2022 season premiere of Monday Night Raw after Brock Lesnar attacked Lashley to soften him up.
My immediate reaction: It all depends on where they go with this. I'm not super into just watching another Lashley vs. Lesnar match outright, particularly without the title on the line. Rollins as champion has been good in the past, but its also been just "a prominent guy is holding a title because why not?" I need to know more about WHY this happened and WHERE they're going for it to really resonate one way or another with me. I don't want to see, for instance, Rollins defending the United States Championship against Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania to compensate for Cody not being in the world title picture, and just killing time for the next few months until then by feuding with "whoever" but I'm also not opposed to the idea of Rollins carrying the belt if something good is coming up.
Since this happened, be sure to check out the updated full list of title changes for this year and the list of current champions and my predictions for who will take the belts away from them.
