WWE NXT Deadline 2022 Spoilers and Predictions

NXT Championship Match: Bron Breakker (c) vs. Apollo Crews

This one is one of the toughest matches for Bron Breakker yet. Crews is a guy I could imagine WWE would position better as the top of NXT than where he was elsewhere on the main roster. He's high enough up on the totem pole that Breakker wouldn't look too weak in his loss. Plus, with 2023 right around the corner, maybe WWE wants to call Breakker up to the main roster?

But here's the thing. I think there are already so many balls to juggle with WrestleMania season as is. They need to do something with Roman Reigns and The Rock most likely, Cody Rhodes in some fashion, Brock Lesnar and Bobby Lashley, maybe Stone Cold Steve Austin and/or John Cena, the Bray Wyatt stuff, all the other titles, and so on. There may not be any room for Breakker to have anything noteworthy. And since he's not exactly in that "been in NXT too long and has to sink or swim asap" position, it's better to just keep the belt on him for Stand & Deliver.

PREDICTION: Bron Breakker wins.

Men's Iron Survivor Challenge: Axiom vs. Carmelo Hayes vs. Grayson Waller vs. JD McDonagh vs. Joe Gacy

I guess they're waiting on Dijak to get a title shot after he barrels through the roster. Tony D'Angelo seems to be going straight for Wes Lee's North American Championship, so that ruled him out.

As far as the ultimate winner goes, this could be where Carmelo Hayes moves up to the top title, rather than the North American. But I think Waller has this. He's not had a feud with Breakker and could very easily become the next in line for the belt, given how much attention they've given his character this year.

There's no way this match isn't a cluster, right?

PREDICTION: Grayson Waller wins.

Women's Iron Survivor Challenge: Cora Jade vs. Indi Hartwell vs. Kiana James vs. Roxanne Perez vs. Zoey Stark

I'm surprised Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn weren't factored into this. As far as the ultimate winner goes, it has to be Perez. Lyons isn't in this and she's the only babyface to go up against Mandy Rose out of this fivesome. Both this and the men's match will be chaotic messes, I think.

PREDICTION: Roxanne Perez wins.

NXT Tag Team Championship Match: Pretty Deadly (c) vs. The New Day

Heeeeeeeeeeyyy! This is fun! I love The New Day and they're fresh opponents for Pretty Deadly. If Kit Wilson and Elton Prince win, they'll look strong. If they lose, we get Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston as NXT tag team champions, which would be awesome. Win-win scenario!

PREDICTION: Pretty Deadly wins.

Alba Fyre vs. Isla Dawn

This isn't a good enough feud for me to want to see this over an NXT North American Championship match. Nope. This is an NXT television episode feud, in my mind. Flip a coin. If Fyre wins, it's because they want her to get some momentum back after losing to Mandy Rose. If they go with Dawn, it's because she's the newer one to the brand and they feel a win over Fyre helps establish her. I've seen this match before on NXT UK and I don't think I'll be jumping out of my seat.

PREDICTION: Isla Dawn wins.
