The WWE NXT North American Championship has changed hands as Solo Sikoa was forced by Shawn Michaels to relinquish the title after he was not a sanctioned replacement of Wes Lee to face Carmelo Hayes. A new champion will be settled at Halloween Havoc in a ladder match featuring Hayes and four others who have yet to qualify.
My immediate reaction: So....why even do this? That's dumb. Is it just to say Sikoa was the champion because you didn't get around to it? I don't know. This feels strange. I'm not a fan. Depending on who is in the ladder match, that should be fun, but I'm tired of 2022 being the year of vacated/interm/relinquished title reigns. Some, you can't avoid. Others, like this, you set up for what?
