Posted by Dallas Allsopp Tuesday, September 20, 2022

Welcome to another edition of WOMEN'S WRESTLING WEEKLY—a rundown of the events which have transpired in the world of women's professional wrestling over the past several days not just with the Superstars on WWE programming, but with Impact Wrestling's Knockouts, ROH's Women of Honor, and even a glimpse at the women on the independent circuit.

WWE Monday Night Raw

Raquel Rodriguez & Aliyah vs Damage CTRL

Simply put, this is the result we should have been treated to in the finals of the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship finals. No offence to Raquel Rodriguez and Aliyah, but they are not the finished product that Dakota Kai and Iyo Sky are. Thankfully, this was a fantastic match to really put over how important the titles could be.

AEW Wednesday Night Dynamite

Britt Baker & Serena Deeb vs Toni Storm & Athena

As a match, this was a fine contest, however, the development that Britt Baker's character is receiving at the moment ensures that even the blandest of matches remains must see television. I do want to say that Toni Storm is currently floundering as Interim AEW WOmen's World Champion, but Thunder Rosa hasn't exactly been setting the world alight either.

Winner: Britt Baker & Serena Deeb

Rating: 3/5

Impact Wrestling

Killer Kelly vs Alisha

Squash City!

Winner: Killer Kelly

Rating: 2/5

Mickie James vs Hyan

Squash City!

Winner: Mickie James

Rating: 2/5

WWE Friday Night SmackDown

Bayley vs Raquel Rodriguez

This Bayley is bloody amazing! She has brought a vigour to WWE that was sorely missing from it's women's division, and this week she set upon Raquel Rodriguez. Granted, Rodriguez did not win, but Bayley made her look a star here. Overall, this is the perfect way to give a rookie a shot against a truly established star.

Winner: Bayley

Rating: 3.5/5

WWE NXT Level Up

Ivy Nile & Tatum Paxley vs Erica Yan & Sloane Jacobs

Squash City!

Winner: Ivy Nile & Tatum Paxley

Rating: 2/5

Amari Miller vs Indi Hartwell

This was essentially an extended squash, but Indi Hartwell failed to look as dominant as she perhaps should have.

Winner: Indi Hartwell

Rating: 2/5

AEW Rampage

Penelope Ford vs Willow Nightingale

Squash City! Extra points for a Muta Lock finish.

Winner: Penelope Ford

Rating: 2.5/5

MATCH OF THE WEEK:

Raquel Rodriguez & Aliyah vs Damage CTRL

A fantastic match to give the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship some real meaning.

WOMEN OF THE WEEK:

Damage CTRL

All three women are simply too much for the rest of the women's division to handle!

So there you have it, the breakdown for the week in women's wrestling. What were some of your favorite and least favorite moments from these women? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
