Welcome to another edition of CALL THE SPOT ON THE CARD, where we present a list of wrestlers and you must choose what place on the WWE Roster Hierarchy they should be put in: 1) Main Event, 2) Upper Midcard, 3) Midcard, 4) Jobber, or 5) Released (or any alternative extra categories that may be added for bigger lists).
The rules are that each spot must be filled and only one person can be in each spot, so no ties can happen, nor can anyone opt out. No matter how difficult it might be, you have to pick.
This edition will focus on the men and women competing in the 2022 Money in the Bank ladder matches.
Since there are seven people in each match, we're using the seven-point ranking structure by adding the Hall of Fame option above Main Event as the top tier goal as well as Lower Midcard to round things out.
2022 WOMEN'S MONEY IN THE BANK LADDER MATCH PARTICIPANTS
Alexa Bliss vs. Asuka vs. Becky Lynch vs. Lacey Evans vs. Liv Morgan vs. Raquel Rodriguez vs. Shotzi Blackheart
7) RELEASED = Shotzi Blackheart
When Shotzi was on that Evolve show before being signed, I was thinking she could be one of the next big things. WWE totally botched her so far. They don't know what they have with her.
I wouldn't want to let any of these women go, but if I'm going to cut one from the roster and hope that she'll be a better fit somewhere else (namely AEW), it would be Shotzi more than anyone else. That way, she can go back to her more badass and credible self, and not be a glorified enhancement talent.
6) JOBBER = Liv Morgan
At this point, Morgan's carved too much of a niche for herself as the underdog that I can't see her actually breaking through that ceiling and winning the belt. Sorry, Liv.
5) LOWER MIDCARD = Lacey Evans
Evans has many of the tools necessary to have already been a champion. In fact, in another era, I think she would have been way bigger than Alundra Blayze and such. She would have held the women's title like four times in the Attitude Era, for instance. These days, though, it seems like the ship has sailed in some ways. I'm hoping she turns things around and gets back on track, but for now, on this list, she's smack dab in the middle.
4) MIDCARD = Alexa Bliss
I'm a huge fan of Bliss, but there are some bigger fish to fry right now with this list. Plus, being in the midcard allows her to explore more character work and to be a more prominent member of the tag team division, which I think is one of her strengths.
3) UPPER MIDCARD = Raquel Rodriguez
Considering her size and potential, she makes sense to be in the spot below the title-holder. There's still room to grow, but she'll get there.
2) MAIN EVENT = Asuka
In a perfect world, WWE never dropped the ball with Asuka and she's been having a better career than they've given her. Sadly, that hasn't happened. She often gets pushed as a backup plan, instead of being the ass kicker she was in NXT.
I'd like to adjust that and make her someone who is perpetually always within the grasp of the title.
1) HALL OF FAME = Becky Lynch
You knew this would be the case. Don't lie. Becky Lynch is the one who has accomplished the most and is arguably the best in the ring, too. Ultimately, this was a relatively easy pick.
2022 MEN'S MONEY IN THE BANK LADDER MATCH PARTICIPANTS
Drew McIntyre vs. Madcap Moss vs. Omos vs. Riddle vs. Sami Zayn vs. Seth Rollins vs. Sheamus
7) RELEASED = Omos
In the grand scheme of things, I think he's already peaked. Sorry, big man.
6) JOBBER = Madcap Moss
I never like putting people on this spot that I think are actually underutilized, but there are just bigger fish to fry, in this case.
5) LOWER MIDCARD = Sami Zayn
If anyone's going to take this spot and make the best of it, it is Sami Zayn. The rest would just feel like they went down the pecking order, but Zayn could have fun with it.
4) MIDCARD = Sheamus
Three others on this list are better suited to be fighting for a world title at this particular moment compared to Sheamus, who is a bona fide Hall of Famer from even years ago and keeps adding to his legacy.
3) UPPER MIDCARD = Riddle
This is his position right now, basically.
2) MAIN EVENT = Drew McIntyre
This is his position right now, too. The only reason he's not in the higher spot is because Seth Rollins has definitely accomplished more in the long run.
1) HALL OF FAME = Seth Rollins
Like I always say with this, I try to judge it based on who has already accomplished the most. He's undoubtedly had the longer list of accolades.
WHO WOULD YOU PUT IN WHICH SPOTS?
