Welcome to another edition of WOMEN'S WRESTLING WEEKLY—a rundown of the events which have transpired in the world of women's professional wrestling over the past several days not just with the Superstars on WWE programming, but with Impact Wrestling's Knockouts, ROH's Women of Honor, and even a glimpse at the women on the independent circuit.
WWE Monday Night Raw
Dana Brooke vs Becky Lynch
This was an absolutely dire match, creating a blend of confusion against the WWE 24/7 Championship and the women's division. Becky Lynch challenging for the title should have provided the lacklustre belt with some sense of pride and validity, but in all honesty, it has simply dragged down the stellar reputation of The Man. Certainly not a match to salivate over.
Winner: Dana Brooke
Rating: 1.5/5
Rhea Ripley vs Liv Morgan vs Alexa Bliss vs Doudrop
The winner of this match would be announced as the number one contender to Bianca Belair's WWE Raw Women's Championship. All four women had a decent shout of becoming the number one contender, although Rhea Ripley's victory never really seemed in doubt. The work rate was high for this contest, and all four women deserve to take the plaudits this week.
Winner: Rhea Ripley
Rating: 3/5
AEW Dark: Elevation
Miyu Yamashita & Skey Blue vs Serena Deeb & Nyla Rose
Squash City!
Winner: Serena Deeb & Nyla Rose
Rating: 2/5
WWE NXT 2.0
Roxanne Perez vs Tiffany Stratton
Although this match went on far too long, the action itself wasn't outright bad. In all fairness, both women still have a long way to go before they are worthy of the main roster, but they at least performed well when asked of them.
Winner: Roxanne Perez
Rating: 2.5/5
Alba Fyre vs Tatum Paxley
Squash City!
Winner: Alba Fyre
Rating: 2/5
AEW Dark
Marina Shafir vs Skye Blue
Squash City!
Winner: Marina Shafir
Rating: 2/5
Toni Storm vs Zeda Zhang
Squash City!
Winner: Toni Storm
Rating: 2/5
AEW Wednesday Night Dynamite
Thunder Rosa vs Marina Shafir
Squash City!
Winner: Thunder Rosa
Rating: 2/5
Impact Wrestling
Rosemary vs Tenille Dashwood
This was a fine, if not extraordinary match, with both women representing themselves well. Rosemary winning was perhaps the correct decision, as she appears to have the ascendacy of momentum at the moment.
Winner: Rosemary
Rating: 2.5/5
WWE NXT UK
Eliza Alexander vs Amale
Squash City!
Winner: Eliza Alexander
Rating: 2/5
Meiko Satomura vs Ivy Nile
The issue I have with Meiko Satomura's WWE NXT UK Women's Championship reign is that she never feels threatened when defending the title. She certainly engages in good matches, but in the main, she is never once troubled. The same happened this week, with Ivy Nile putting up a spirited, but ultimately unsuccessful fight. The action was good, but the lack of drama really hurt this.
Winner: Meiko Satomura
Rating: 3/5
WWE Friday Night SmackDown
Lacey Evans vs Xia Li
Squash City!
Winner: Lacey Evans
Rating: 2/5
Ronda Rousey vs Shotzi
Oh my days! Ronda Rousey just is not clicking as WWE SmackDown Women's Champion, and in Shotzi, she was not presented with an opponent that could elevate her own performance. This was simply an embarrassing mess.
Winner: Ronda Rousey
Rating: 1.5/5
WWE NXT Level Up
Valentina Feroz vs Arianna Grace
Squash City!
Winner: Valentina Feroz
Rating: 2/5
Sloane Jacobs vs Sierra St. Pierre
Squash City!
Winner: Sloane Jacobs
Rating: 2/5
AEW Rampage
Kris Statlander vs Red Velvet
This was all about the ongoing feud between Kris Statlander, Athena, Anna Jay, and The Baddies. Therefore, the match was secondary to the interactions.
Winner: Kris Statlander
Rating: 2.5/5
MATCH OF THE WEEK:
Rhea Ripley vs Liv Morgan vs Alexa Bliss vs Doudrop
Raw seemingly excels at the moment with multi-women matches, with this particular contest showcasing Rhea Ripley as a real star.
WOMAN OF THE WEEK:
Rhea Ripley
In terms of presence, Rhea Ripley has been a big part of Raw this week, and I am eagerly anticipating her upcoming match with Bianca Belair at Money in the Bank.
