Welcome to another edition of WOMEN'S WRESTLING WEEKLY—a rundown of the events which have transpired in the world of women's professional wrestling over the past several days not just with the Superstars on WWE programming, but with Impact Wrestling's Knockouts, ROH's Women of Honor, and even a glimpse at the women on the independent circuit.
WWE Monday Night Raw
Bianca Belair vs Asuka
As a preview to Hell in a Cell, this was a fine match to open Raw. Although it would in no way influence the result at Hell in a Cell, Belair winning was further reinforcement of just how strong she is as WWE Raw Women's Champion.
Winner: Bianca Belair
Rating: 3/5
Alexa Bliss vs Doudrop
Squash City! And this made no sense whatsoever.
Winner: Alexa Bliss
Rating: 1.5/5
Liv Morgan vs Rhea Ripley
It truly was a surprise result to have Liv Morgan go over Rhea Ripley, but a result nonetheless that gives Morgan some level of credibility.
Winner: Liv Morgan
Rating: 3/5
AEW Dark: Elevation
Mercedes Martinez vs Mazzerati
Squash City!
Winner: 2
Rating: 2/5
WWE NXT 2.0
Cora Jade vs Elektra Lopez
A more competitive match than I anticipated, this wasn't a bad offering. Cora Jade winning was perhaps the correct decision, but neither woman looked poor as a result of this encounter. And when considering how poor NXT 2.0 is, that is quite the acheivement.
Winner: Cora Jade
Rating: 2.5/5
Ivy Nile vs Kiana James
Squash City!
Winner: Ivy Nile
Rating: 2/5
AEW Dark
Mercedes Martinez vs Viva Van
Squash City!
Winner: Mercedes Martinez
Rating: 2/5
Jamie Hayter vs Danika Della Rouge
Squash City!
Winner: Jamie Hayter
Rating: 2/5
AEW Wednesday Night Dynamite
Ruby Soho & Toni Storm vs Britt Baker & Jamie Hayter
Mediocre and uninspiring, I expected much more than what was available this week on Dynamite. Britt Baker losing was a surprise, but not one that strikes me with much confidence for the division moving forward.
Winner: Ruby Soho & Toni Storm
Rating: 2.5/5
Impact Wrestling
Mia Yim vs Savannah Evans
Squash City!
Winner: Mia Yim
Rating: 2/5
WWE NXT UK
Stevie Turner vs Angel Hayze
Squash City!
Winner: Stevie Turner
Rating: 2/5
WWE Friday Night SmackDown
Natalya vs Raquel Rodriguez vs Xia Li vs Aliyah vs Shayna Baszler vs Shotzi
The absolute drizzling shits! This was one of the worst women's matches I've had the misfortune of watching in quite some time.
Winner: Natalya
Rating: 1/5
WWE NXT Level Up
Fallon Henley vs Brooklyn Barlow
Squash City!
Winner: Fallon Henley
Rating: 2/5
Tatum Paxley vs Sloane Jacobs
Squash City!
Winner: Tatum Paxley
Rating: 2/5
AEW Rampage
Athena vs Kiera Hogan
Squash City! I absolutely cannot wait for Jade Cargill vs Athena!
Winner: Athena
Rating: 3/5
WWE NXT: In Your House 2022
Toxic Attraction vs Kayden Carter & Katana Chance
Whilst not stunning, Toxic Attraction winning was the perfect result.
Winner: Toxic Attraction
Rating: 3/5
Mandy Rose vs Wendy Choo
Not the fast paced match this contest required in order to succeed, I came away from In Your House feeling extremely underwhelmed. Granted, it was not expected that Wendy Choo would win, but this match gave no indication she even had a chance. Overall, this was just poor.
Winner: Mandy Rose
Rating: 2.5/5
WWE Hell in a Cell 2022
Bianca Belair vs Becky Lynch vs Asuka
As an action packed contest, this was the perfect way to kick off Hell in a Cell. Bianca Belair looked well and truly dominant, whilst Becky Lynch looked motivated. Asuka was able to evidence she has returned from injury with renewed vigour, but ultimately, this was all about Belair.
Winner: Bianca Belair
Rating: 4/5
MATCH OF THE WEEK:
Bianca Belair vs Becky Lynch vs Asuka
Simply the best match at Hell in a Cell.
WOMAN OF THE WEEK:
Bianca Belair
The EST of WWE showed this week just how dominant and devastating she truly is as WWE Raw Women's Champion.
