WWE Title Change: New United States Champion Crowned on Monday Night Raw (April 18, 2022) | Smark Out Moment

The WWE United States Championship has changed hands as Austin Theory defeated Finn Balor to win the title on the April 18, 2022 edition of Monday Night Raw.

My immediate reaction: Good. Finn Balor was clearly a transitional champion and it was time to transition. Theory is someone who needs to have a title right now to keep him from becoming irrelevant and losing the momentum he had gained with WrestleMania. Since WWE cares more about Theory's push than they did about doing something with Balor, this will be an upgrade to the United States title, too, as it won't be lost in the shuffle and forgotten about for weeks on end.

Since this happened, be sure to check out the updated full list of title changes for this year and the list of current champions and my predictions for who will take the belts away from them.
