WWE Clash at the Castle 2022 Spoilers |
Unified WWE Universal Championship Match: Roman Reigns (c) vs. Drew McIntyre
This was forecast a long time ago. Some of the journey to get to that point was fun, admittedly, rather than just announcing it outright months in advance. Nevertheless, we're here.
They'll do what they can to try to make it seem as though Drew McIntyre has the home advantage, but he's not winning. There is no way he's capturing both belts and derailing this Roman Reigns train.
Reigns either wins outright, or Tyson Fury interferes, costs McIntyre the match and that's what sets up their match for Crown Jewel. I keep seeing things about Bray Wyatt returning, Theory cashing in, the titles being split and all sorts of stuff. Crazier things have happened. However, I'll believe all that when I see it.
PREDICTION: Roman Reigns retains.
SmackDown Women's Championship Match: Liv Morgan (c) vs. Shayna Baszler
Part of me says "Cool! Shayna Baszler is getting a pay-per-view title shot. It's about time." Another part of me says "But isn't it kind of obvious she's just filling in a blank until Ronda Rousey returns and beats Liv Morgan at Extreme Rules or Crown Jewel?"
I'd love to see The Queen of Spades get back to where she was in NXT. This isn't where I think it happens. But Morgan's been far from booked strongly. Maybe that's a sign she's dropping the belt and Triple H sees more in Baszler against Rousey.
PREDICTION: Liv Morgan retains.
Six-Woman Tag Team Match: Bianca Belair, Alexa Bliss and Asuka vs. Bayley, Dakota Kai and Iyo Sky
The good news? All six of these women are super talented and I'm extremely glad to see the three heels back and all parties to be involved in a pay-per-view.
The bad news? It is a rather meaningless six-woman tag team match on a pay-per-view, which I feel is better suited for an episode of Raw.
It'll be a fine segment, but the only way I can see this mattering at all is if there are title implications where if the heels win, Bayley gets the next title shot. Since I can imagine that will happen anyway, let's go with Team Bayley coming out victorious.
PREDICTION: The heels win.
Riddle vs. Seth "Freakin" Rollins
They didn't do this match at SummerSlam, for whatever reason. Maybe it was just to push it back for this and nothing else. Perhaps something got in the way of doing it then and they just decided to delay it, rather than to do it on Raw. Whatever the case, they've come back around, and my opinion is the same as before, in that I think Riddle will come out on top. A win for him means more than a loss for Rollins hurts The Architect. I've liked some of the shots they've taken at each other on Raw in their promos, but I do think this feud could stand to end here, or at least, in a gimmick match at Extreme Rules. Since I think it'll carry on to that event, I'll say Rollins wins so Riddle can get his vengeance in something more brutal.
Intercontinental Championship Match: Gunther (c) vs. Sheamus
Neat! I like that they're FINALLY putting this belt on a pay-per-view after well over a year. I also like the idea that Sheamus is fighting for it, considering he's a great opponent for Gunther to beat and if The Celtic Warrior did manage to capture the belt, it is one of the last things still left for him to achieve, so I'm hoping he can win it at some point. Win-win scenario. I'm down.
PREDICTION: Gunther wins.
Edge and Rey Mysterio vs. The Judgment Day
No Beth Phoenix to offset Rhea Ripley? Laaaaaaaaaaaaame. That was the only part of this I was interested in. I've seen enough of Rey Mysterio against Finn Balor and Damian Priest. I'm not all that into the Dominik Mysterio heel turn as the only saving grace of this, either. Dude needs a haircut, by the way. I'm disappointed The Glamazon isn't involved, as I would have honestly been even more down for just Beth Phoenix vs. Rhea Ripley without the other parties involved. Boo.
PREDICTION: The Judgment Day wins. This page will be altered on a regular basis to reflect changes to the show including any new matches added to the lineup, adjustments to the card, revised predictions and any other information about this event. Stay tuned for the latest updates!
