The WWE Championship has changed hands as Brock Lesnar defeated Bobby Lashley (as well as AJ Styles, Austin Theory, Riddle, and Seth Rollins) to win the title at Elimination Chamber on February 19, 2022.
My immediate reaction: Called it. WWE always puts all their eggs in one basket when it comes to Brock Lesnar and they teased the title-for-title thing far too many times to just ignore it. Meh. While this does make that one particular match look slightly more intriguing on paper for the marquee, it hurts the overall card for not having another title match. It also hurts the Raw roster, as the next two months will be spent largely ignoring that, followed by the champion having to do double-duty after Mania. We all know Reigns is going to win anyway. I was more excited at the prospect of someone else other than Brock leaving with the belt.
Since this happened, be sure to check out the updated full list of title changes for this year and the list of current champions and my predictions for who will take the belts away from them.
