Welcome to another edition of WOMEN'S WRESTLING WEEKLY—a rundown of the events which have transpired in the world of women's professional wrestling over the past several days not just with the Superstars on WWE programming, but with Impact Wrestling's Knockouts, ROH's Women of Honor, and even a glimpse at the women on the independent circuit.
WWE Monday Night Raw
Bianca Belair vs Nikki A.S.H.
Squash City! Nikki A.S.H. really needs to go away for a while and retool her character. Bring back the deranged version of Nikki Cross that we loved in Sanity!
Winner: Bianca Belair
Rating: 2/5
Liv Morgan vs Doudrop
This was a fair match, but it carried absolutely no intensity. Both wrestlers are in a state of flux at the moment, but neither can really be blamed for a lack of a push.
Winner: Doudrop
Rating: 2.5/5
AEW Dark: Elevation
Skye Blue, Queen Aminata, & Heather Reckless vs Diamante, The Bunny, & Emi Sakura
Squash City!
Winner: Diamante, The Bunny, & Emi Sakura
Rating: 2/5
Julia Hart vs Arie Alexander
Squash City!
Winner: Julia Hart
Rating: 2/5
WWE NXT 2.0
Tiffany Stratton vs Wendy Choo
Squash City!
Winner: Tiffany Stratton
Rating: 2/5
Sarray vs Dakota Kai
Way too short! Both women are capable of magic when afforded a decent amount of time, but this was just four minutes of action that deserved better.
Winner: Sarray
Rating: 3/5
Mandy Rose vs Kay Lee Ray
As an NXT Women's Championship match, this was more than serviceable. Mandy Rose is admittedly a better wrestler than fans give her credit for, and although Kay Lee Ray more than held her own here. Rose retaining was the best option.
Winner: Mandy Rose
Rating: 3/5
AEW Dark
Julia Hart vs Kelsey Heather
Squash City!
Winner: Julia Hart
Rating: 2/5
Mercedes Martinez vs Queen Aminata
Squash City!
Winner: Mercedes Martinez
Rating: 2/5
Anna Jay vs Kaci Lennox
Squash City!
Winner: Anna Jay
Rating: 2/5
AEW Wednesday Night Dynamite
Jade Cargill vs A.Q.A.
Squash City! The very scene of a murder!
Winner: Jade Cargill
Rating: 2/5
Serena Deeb vs Katie Arquette
Squash City!
Winner: Serena Deeb
Rating: 2/5
Impact Wrestling
Deonna Purrazzo vs Santana Garrett
This was a fine match, although Deonna Purrazzo has enjoyed much better contests recently. The major reason for this falling flat is the fact that Santana Garrett is not the best opponent for her to face.
Winner: Deonna Purrazzo
Rating: 2.5/5
Chelsea Green vs Mickie James
Not entertaining at all, especially as the disqualifucation finish came off poorly.
Winner: Chelsea Green (via DQ)
Rating: 2/5
WWE NXT UK
Amale vs Nina Samuels
Simply bland and uninteresting.
Winner: Amale
Rating: 2/5
WWE Friday Night SmackDown
Natalya vs Aliyah
This was a Dungeon Rules match to highlight Natalya's history as a member of the fabled Hart family, but this match was undeserving of being associated to such a legacy. Natalya continues to struggle on SmackDown, coming across as a veteran that needs to hang up her boots. Aliyah didn't benefit from the match, and she truly feels as though she is now DOA on SmackDown, which is a real shame.
Winner: Natalya
Rating: 1/5
Charlotte Flair vs Naomi
Charlotte Flair defended her WWE SmackDown Women's Championship against Naomi in a worthy main event, providing fans with a solid contest to reinforce just how talented these two wrestlers are. Naomi never truly felt like she would win, but the journey to get to Flair retaining was more than enjoyable.
Winner: Charlotte Flair
Rating: 4/5
AEW Rampage
Britt Baker vs Robyn Renegade
Although Britt Baker enjoyed the majority of the offense during this match, it is clear that she should have been able to dispatch of Robyn Renegade in a much quicker and decisive fashion.
Winner: Britt Baker
Rating: 2.5/5
MATCH OF THE WEEK:
Charlotte Flair vs Naomi
This was the perfect way to cap off an improved episode of SmackDown.
WOMAN OF THE WEEK:
Noami
I can already hear the shouts of 'push Naomi'. And those fans would be correct!
