While most people are concerning themselves with March Madness, we here at Smark Out Moment present to you the 2022 SMARK MADNESS tournament instead!
For the sixth edition, to coincide with the release of WWE 2K22, we've determined "What is the best WWE video game so far?"
After five rounds and the qualifier, the finals came down to WWE SmackDown! Here Comes the Pain (2003) or WWE 2K19 (2018) vs. WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2011 (2010) in a triple threat. The results from Round 5 are in (and can be found in more detail here) wherein your winner and the game you voted as the best of all time is WWE 2K19!
Check out the full bracket along with some statistics and analysis below.
CLOSEST CALL
As far as closest calls in this tournament go, the whole reason there was a Triple Threat in the finals is because of a tie. You can't get closer than that!
BIGGEST LANDSLIDE VICTORY
Ties are easy for closest calls, as are entire blowouts. WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2011, one of the finalists, got every single vote against WWE Day of Reckoning 2 in the first round. Once again, you can't get a bigger gap than that!
BIGGEST SHOCKERS
From my perspective, I don't have any big surprises, as this is something I'm not heavily invested in. I haven't played most of the games a single time, so I couldn't judge them. I am surprised, though, based on the discussion that I've heard from these years, that No Mercy wasn't in the finals, if not the winner.Big thanks to everyone who participated in the voting from the qualifying round all the way up until the end, as well as those who shared this on Facebook, Twitter or elsewhere to draw more attention to it and get more people involved. If you have any suggestions of what you'd like to see happen in the 2023 tournament or ideas of how we can improve this, make sure to leave us a comment or shoot us an email to send that message our way!
