WWE Title Change: New WWE Champion Crowned at WWE Day 1

Posted by Anthony Mango Saturday, January 1, 2022

The WWE Championship has changed hands as Brock Lesnar defeated Big E (and Kevin Owens and Seth Rollins and Bobby Lashley) to win the title at WWE Day 1 on January 1, 2022.

My immediate reaction: The moment they announced Brock Lesnar was in this match as a replacement, I figured he would be winning the belt. I'm not at all surprised. I don't know if this was the original plan or what, but we're totally heading toward Champion vs Champion vs Royal Rumble winner Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania, or they're going to burn the Royal Rumble ahead of time.

Since this happened, be sure to check out the updated full list of title changes for this year and the list of current champions and my predictions for who will take the belts away from them.
