WWE SummerSlam 2022 Results |
Raw Women's Championship Match: Bianca Belair (c) vs. Becky Lynch
RESULT: Bianca Belair retained by pinfall
THOUGHTS: Rock solid match, as expected, given how these two have worked well in the past.
Following the match, Becky Lynch shook Bianca Belair's hand, then pulled her in for a hug. Surprisingly, Bayley then made her return, followed by Dakota Kai!!! Then, Io Shirai! They had a stare down with Belair, who was backed up by Becky.
Logan Paul vs. The Miz
RESULT: Logan Paul won by pinfall.
THOUGHTS: Another very entertaining match. This event is off to such a good start. I hope they keep the ball rolling.
United States Championship Match: Bobby Lashley (c) vs. Theory
RESULT: Bobby Lashley retained by submission.
THOUGHTS: This felt super short. I'm not sure if that'll ultimately be a good thing or just a thing. Maybe keeping it short prevented it from dragging. I enjoyed the segment. Thumbs up.
No Disqualification Tag Team Match: The Judgment Day vs. The Mysterios
RESULT: The Mysterios won by pinfall.
THOUGHTS: Edge's return was obviously the most interesting part of this. I'm curious why he cut his hair if he's going for the whole Brood thing again.
Happy Corbin vs. Pat McAfee
RESULT: Pat McAfee won by pinfall.
THOUGHTS: Yup, I enjoyed it. I liked the kick to the balls finish, too, considering he's a kicker and Corbin had given him a low blow on SmackDown last night. Fair play. It was fun having Michael Cole and Corey Graves on commentary rooting for the two opposite sides, too.
Unified WWE Tag Team Championship Match: The Usos (c) vs. The Street Profits (with special guest referee Jeff Jarrett)
RESULT: The Usos retained by pinfall.
THOUGHTS: Further pushing the seemingly up and coming split of The Street Profits, this was very much a situation of Montez Ford getting frustrated at the end there and with Angelo Dawkins taking the loss, that's the story we'll track. This match wasn't as good as the last one, but it was still entertaining.
SmackDown Women's Championship Match: Liv Morgan (c) vs. Ronda Rousey
RESULT: Liv Morgan retained by pinfall.
THOUGHTS: After just having the match that revolved around the bad official calls, they have a finish here where Morgan pins Rousey while also tapping out.
Rousey's attacking Morgan post-match. Then, attacking the referee. Heel turn, I guess. Good. That's more natural for her.
Undisputed WWE Universal Championship Last Man Standing Match: Roman Reigns (c) vs. Brock Lesnar
RESULT: Roman Reigns retained the title
THOUGHTS: Hell of a main event. I enjoyed that so much.
