WWE Crown Jewel 2022 Results |
Singles Match: Bobby Lashley vs. Brock Lesnar
RESULT: Brock Lesnar won by pinfall.
THOUGHTS: This was basically a handful of moves and a Bret Hart style "gotcha" pin. It's nowhere near what people wanted these two to beat the tar out of each other like. That just means they're probably stretching this out until WrestleMania and I'm not interested in watching this take a back seat and then have to heat back up again just for what will probably be similar to the same sort of match in April. Stop milking things and just give us the full 100% match already.
Lashley put Lesnar in The Hurt Lock after the match.
WWE Women's Tag Team Championship Match: Alexa Bliss and Asuka (c) vs. Damage CTRL (Dakota Kai and Iyo Sky)
RESULT: Damage CTRL wins the titles back with some help from Nikki Cross.
THOUGHTS: Told you that was a total waste of a tag team title reign.
Steel Cage Match: Drew McIntyre vs. Karrion Kross
RESULT: Drew McIntyre won by escaping the cage.
THOUGHTS: Thumbs up on the finish. Kross loses without being pinned. Nice.
Six-Man Tag Team Match: The Judgment Day (Damian Priest, Dominik Mysterio and Finn Balor) vs. The O.C. (AJ Styles, Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows)
RESULT: The Judgment Day won by pinfall.
THOUGHTS: So the same match outcome we've seen a bunch of times, basically? Ripley keeps interfering and costing The O.C. the win. Nothing changes. Rinse and repeat. Too much time has gone by between starting these feuds and Survivor Series. Almost none of them have had the legs to go all these weeks.
Braun Strowman vs. Omos
RESULT: Braun Strowman won by pinfall.
THOUGHTS: When you put two giants in the ring together like this, you don't expect Shawn Michaels against Bret Hart. This was solid and I'm glad Strowman won while Omos didn't look weak at any moment. It's a win-win.
Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship Match: The Usos (c) vs. The Brawling Brutes
RESULT: The Usos retained by pinfall.
THOUGHTS: For a match with a result that was guaranteed from a mile away, they did a good job making this a competitive contest.
Last Woman Standing Match for the Raw Women's Championship: Bianca Belair (c) vs. Bayley
RESULT: Bianca Belair retained
THOUGHTS: Can we be done with this feud now? This match was good outside of the golf cart spot, but I'm way past watching Belair beat Bayley and them just saying "but do it again" for another 4 weeks.
Bray Wyatt had another promo where he said a bunch of cryptic nothings, only for Uncle Howdy to pop up on the TitanTron to say his own couple sentences of cryptic nothings. Basically, if you've seen ANY Bray Wyatt promo from the past decade that leads nowhere, it was that again.
Undisputed WWE Universal Championship Match: Roman Reigns (c) vs. Logan Paul
RESULT: Roman Reigns retained by pinfall.THOUGHTS: Thumbs up for the main event. They did a good job here.
