Welcome to another edition of WOMEN'S WRESTLING WEEKLY—a rundown of the events which have transpired in the world of women's professional wrestling over the past several days not just with the Superstars on WWE programming, but with Impact Wrestling's Knockouts, ROH's Women of Honor, and even a glimpse at the women on the independent circuit.
WWE Monday Night Raw
Bianca Belair & Liv Morgan vs Doudrop & Becky Lynch
I enjoyed this contest, even if the set up did feel rather cliche. Doudrop continues to be presented well, and even looks fantastic in the ring. Overall, this was a delight to watch, as all four women have been on a roll in recent weeks.
Winner: Doudrop & Becky Lynch
Rating: 3/5
AEW Dark: Elevation
Tay Conti vs Ameera
Squash City!
Winner: Tay Conti
Rating: 2/5
Ruby Soho vs Kenzie Paige
Squash City!
Winner: Ruby Soho
Rating: 2/5
WWE NXT 2.0
Ivy Nile vs Kay Lee Ray
Ivy Nile was lucky to win here, as Mandy Rose ensured her distraction was enough to cost Kay Lee Ray the match. The action was okay, but the storyline was much better.
Winner: Ivy Nile
Rating: 2.5/5
Dakota Kai vs Yulisa Leon
Squash City! And this was the kind of victory that King Kota needed to remain relevant in NXT 2.0.
Winner: Dakota Kai
Rating: 2.5/5
AEW Dark
Katalina Perez vs Leyla Hirsch
Squash City!
Winner: Leyla Hirsch
Rating: 2/5
Red Velvet vs Vipress
Squash City!
Winner: Red Velvet
Rating: 2/5
Robyn Renegade vs Skye Blue
Squash City!
Winner: Skye Blue
Rating: 2/5
Anna Jay vs Tiffany Nieves
Squash City!
Winner: Anna Jay
Rating: 2/5
AEW Wednesday Night Dynamite
Serena Deeb vs Skye Blue
This was not really a showcase of the strength of the women's division, but rather a spot for Serena Deeb to show how great she is. So all in all, I can't really complain.
Winner: Serena Deeb
Rating: 3/5
Impact Wrestling
Tasha Steelz vs Chelsea Green
The very definition of dull and unexciting. I'm not afraid to say that Chelsea Green is one of the most uninspiring and boring wrestlers in the industry today. Her work needs some real improvement, and her character is super flat.
Winner: Tasha Steelz
Rating: 1.5/5
The Influence vs Decay
Meh. Just very by the numbers, which is a real shame.
Winner: The Influence
Rating: 2/5
WWE NXT UK
Isla Dawn vs Emilia McKenzie
Squash City! But unfortunately, this just didn't really serve a purpose.
Winner: Isla Dawn
Rating: 2/5
WWE Friday Night SmackDown
Aliyah vs Natalya
An awful, awful match. But hey - Aliyah continues to gain traction and momentum on SmackDown.
Winner: Aliyah (via DQ)
Rating: 1.5/5
Charlotte Flair vs Naomi
Charlotte Flair vs Naomi was pure bait and switch, promising a WWE SmackDown Women's Championship match that was anything but. The main event more than made up for this mess, but the single match that was hyped for this show left a severely sour taste in my mouth.
Winner: Charlotte Flair
Rating: 1/5
AEW Rampage
Jade Cargill vs Anna Jay
That Bitch was in no danger here of losing her title, but it is so refreshing and exciting to see her represent the AEW TBS Women's Championship with such vigour. It also helps to see her in longer matches than what we are accustomed to seeing her in, as it confirms she has real talent.
Winner: Jade Cargill
Rating: 2.5/5
MATCH OF THE WEEK:
Bianca Belair & Liv Morgan vs Doudrop & Becky Lynch
Overall, this was exactly what it needed to be.
WOMAN OF THE WEEK:
Jade Cargill
Jade Cargill proved that she is the real deal, and is most imortantly That Bitch.
