AEW Double or Nothing 2022 Results

Hook and Danhausen vs. Tony Nese and Smart Mark Sterling

RESULT: Hook and Danhausen won by pinfall.
THOUGHTS: I've said before that the Danhausen schtick isn't for me, so take that for what it's worth. Big fan of Orange Cassidy, though.

MJF vs. Wardlow

RESULT: Wardlow won by pinfall.
THOUGHTS: The squash it needed to be. I loved MJF pretending to be an airplane when he first got into the ring to play into the reports he had flown out of Las Vegas.

The Hardys (Jeff Hardy and Matt Hardy) vs. The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson)

RESULT: The Hardys won by pinfall.
THOUGHTS: This was rough. Something was seriously off with Jeff Hardy. All the potential in the world for this to be great, but it was a seriously bumpy ride.

AEW TBS Championship Match: Jade Cargill (c) vs. Anna Jay

RESULT: Jade Cargill retained by pinfall.
THOUGHTS: The most interesting part of this match was the surprise appearances by Stokely Hathaway and Athena. I don't think Cargill should be having multiple people interfere on her behalf to win matches when she towers over her opponent. Let's keep her strong and not turn her into the typical heel who can't win without help.

Six-Man Tag Team Match: The House of Black (Brody King, Buddy Matthews and Malakai Black) vs. Death Triangle (PAC, Penta Oscuro and Rey Fenix)

RESULT: House of Black won by pinfall with some help from Julia Hart.
THOUGHTS: I've gone on record saying I don't think Julia Hart fits in this group, so I'm not super duper into that, but whatever. The match was entertaining.

Owen Hart Foundation Men's Tournament Final: Adam Cole vs. Samoa Joe

RESULT: Adam Cole won by pinfall.
THOUGHTS: With a little help from Bobby Fish, this makes sense. Good match.

Owen Hart Foundation Women's Tournament Final: Britt Baker vs. Ruby Soho

RESULT: Britt Baker won by pinfall.
THOUGHTS: Not as good as the previous match, but it'll do.

Mixed Trios Match: American Top Team (Scorpio Sky, Ethan Page and Paige VanZant) vs. Sammy Guevara, Tay Conti and Frankie Kazarian

RESULT: American Top Team won by pinfall.
THOUGHTS: Not as rough as the Hardy match, but VanZant isn't ready and I really have to echo statements I made before that this match would have been better on Dynamite instead of taking up time on an already bloated pay-per-view. I'm glad the babyfaces won, though.

Darby Allin vs. Kyle O'Reilly

RESULT: Kyle O'Reilly won by pinfall.
THOUGHTS: It didn't need to be on the card. They are both capable of better matches, too. I'm honestly disappointed. This event keeps draining my energy and each match that I expect to boost it up keeps falling short of expectations.

AEW Women's World Championship Match: Thunder Rosa (c) vs. Serena Deeb

RESULT: Thunder Rosa retained by pinfall.
THOUGHTS: I think I would have enjoyed this more if my energy hadn't been sapped from the hours that preceded this. AEW events tend to go super long and they feel like they're super long. The wrong placement or the wrong matches can hurt. This match in and of itself was fine, but I struggled to watch it since I'm already feeling tapped out. I hope the next match pumps me up.

Anarchy in the Arena Match: The Jericho Appreciation Society vs. Blackpool Combat Club, Santana, Ortiz and Eddie Kingston

RESULT: Jericho Appreciation Society won after Bryan Danielson is strangled into passing out.
THOUGHTS: EASILY the best part of the night so far. Nothing comes close.

Rush el Toro Blanco is now in AEW and alongside Andrade El Idolo.

Dante Martin is next in line to challenge for the TNT Championship.

AEW World Tag Team Championship Three-Way Match: Jurassic Express (c) vs. Team Taz vs. Keith Lee and Swerve Strickland

RESULT: Jurassic Express won by pinfall.
THOUGHTS: Hell of a match. This is what I wanted to see more of on this show. Awesome.

AEW World Championship Match: "Hangman" Adam Page (c) vs. CM Punk

RESULT: CM Punk won the title by pinfall.
THOUGHTS: Great match. I'm disappointed Page dropped the title, but the match was really good, so they pulled that off.
