AEW All Out 2022 Spoilers |
AEW World Championship Match: Jon Moxley (c) vs. CM Punk
So Moxley wins in his hometown and Punk will win it back in Chicago. K. If I don't sound super thrilled, its because I'm not. I think there could have been a lot of other better strategies, including just not doing that match on Dynamite and making this the first one.
PREDICTION: CM Punk wins.Interim AEW Women's World Championship Four-Way Match: Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. vs. Hikaru Shida vs. Jamie Hayter vs. Toni Storm
I've been underwhelmed by Thunder Rosa's title reign. However, having her vacate the title due to an injury wasn't my ideal way for her run to end. It's strange AEW is back to having another interim champion the same night they settled on the CM Punk and Jon Moxley situation, too. That's all that much more in the camp of this holding pattern this title has been around lately, where Rosa just kept feuding with Toni Storm, Britt Baker and Jamie Hayter for what felt like 9 months.
Hikaru Shida is randomly thrown in there. Yay? I liked her and all, but I feel like she stands no chance and feels out of place. Wouldn't KiLynn King make more sense? Nobody would expect her to win, but is anyone thinking Shida will win, either?
Hayter would be the most interesting option, but I can't sign off on her being champion outright. Since this is an interim title, Baker makes the most sense to me, but Storm is more interesting than just reverting back to Baker. Since they just did the whole "interim champion beats the true champion" thing with Moxley, I think there's more of a chance Baker wins this and loses to Rosa down the line than for Storm to win and beat Rosa, nor do I like the idea of Storm winning this, then losing to Rosa.
PREDICTION: Britt Baker wins.
Six-Man Tag Team Match: Wardlow and FTR vs. Jay Lethal and The Motor City Machine Guns
I'm much more interested in this setup than if it were involving Satnam Singh and Sonjay Dutt instead of MCMG. Honestly, I'd rather just see a tag team match with Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley against FTR, rather than to involve Lethal and Wardlow.
PREDICTION: Wardlow and FTR win.
AEW World Trios Championship Tournament Final: The Elite (Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks) vs. Dark Order (Hangman Adam Page, Alex Reynolds and John Silver)
This would have been better if they could have had Adam Cole, Bobby Fish and Kyle O'Reilly against Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks, but Dark Order with Adam Page is a fine enough substitute.
PREDICTION: The Elite wins.
Casino Ladder Match
Participants: Andrade El Idolo, Claudio Castagnoli, Dante Martin, Penta El Zero Miedo, Rey Fenix, Rush, Wheeler Yuta and TBD Joker
If we're limiting our prediction to just those people, without knowing who the Joker pick is, I could imagine Andrade having the best shot if Moxley retains, but if Punk wins, I'm leaning toward Yuta. The thing is, we've seen enough of these to know that the winner is almost entirely unpredictable, as Tony Khan sometimes has a joker in mind for a big match, but other times, just goes with some midcard act to get a random title shot on Dynamite or Rampage.
I'll play into the safe thing and say the joker entrant wins.
Chris Jericho vs. Bryan Danielson
On paper, this is a bigger match with two higher-value marquee names than for Daniel Garcia to be involved, but I was honestly more interested in the idea of Garcia against Jericho. Still, I'm down to see this, because these two are among my favorites.
AEW World Tag Team Championship Match: Swerve in Our Glory (c) vs. The Acclaimed
I really want to see The Acclaimed win these titles at some point. Now is not when that will happen, though. The Gunn Club is still feuding with The Acclaimed, right? This seems sort of random and disjointed, like a few things going on in AEW right now. More than anything, I feel like this is just a match for the sake of having a match, which is a problem AEW has always had with their pay-per-views—tossing people onto the card and saying "But don't you want to see it?" rather than crafting a story for everything.
Christian Cage vs. Jungle Boy
This needed to happen. It's been a long time coming. Let's see how Christian can put over Jungle Boy and make him look even more like a star. I'm down. There's a chance Cage can squeak out a victory by cheating, but I'd rather it just be a simple situation where Jungle Boy wins and that's the end of it.
Ricky Starks vs. Powerhouse Hobbs
Depending on how they book some of the other matches, like Jungle Boy's potential win, I could see this going either way. At this moment, I'm leaning more toward Hobbs being the one to come out on top. A win for him means more than a win for Starks, who can take the loss and not be buried.
AEW TBS Championship Match: Jade Cargill (c) vs. Athena
This was definitely the only way to go. Athena has a chance to win the title, but I still actually don't feel like that's a certainty. In fact, I'd rather Cargill retain until it feels like she needs to drop it.
PREDICTION: Jade Cargill retains.
Eddie Kingston vs. Tomohiro Ishii
Why are we wasting time with this, rather than doing that Sammy Guevara and Tay Melo vs. Eddie Kingston and Ruby Soho match? I'd rather it not be on the card and to save those minutes from the burnout, even if everyone and their mother is gushing over how this match will be awesome and all. If that's the case, put it on TV and bump up your viewership. These random exhibitions on pay-per-views aren't my vibe.
AEW All-Atlantic Championship Match: PAC (c) vs. Kip Sabian
This feud's been such a sideline thing that I can't tell you anything about it, other than Sabian had his face covered for months and then started messing with Pac at some point. I can't even tell you when that started. But whatever. This event will be 12 hours long, so I assume even though this match should be fun, it will probably feel unnecessary.
House of Black vs. Miro, Darby Allin and Sting
YOU get a trios match. And YOU get a trios match. This is basically just to get some names on the card who didn't get placed in the Casino Ladder Match. Whatever. It's not a feud that is speaking to me, personally, even though I like most of the guys involved.
FTW Championship Match: Hook (c) vs. Angelo Parker
Huh? Why? There are FOURTEEN matches on this show.
