Call the Spot on the Card #25: WWE Survivor Series 2021 Team Members

Posted by Anthony Mango Saturday, November 20, 2021

Welcome to another edition of CALL THE SPOT ON THE CARD, where we present a list of wrestlers and you must choose what place on the WWE Roster Hierarchy they should be put in: 1) Main Event, 2) Upper Midcard, 3) Midcard, 4) Jobber, or 5) Released.

The rules are that each spot must be filled and only one person can be in each spot, so no ties can happen, nor can anyone opt out. No matter how difficult it might be, you have to pick.

Call the Spot Survivor Series teams ranked

Per usual for Survivor Series, this edition will actually feature multiple separate lists based on the teams from the different brands ranked among their teammates.

2021 WOMEN'S SURVIVOR SERIES ELIMINATION MATCH

TEAM RAW = Bianca Belair vs. Carmella vs. Liv Morgan vs. Rhea Ripley vs. Queen Zelina Vega
TEAM SMACKDOWN = Natalya vs. Sasha Banks vs. Shayna Baszler vs. Shotzi Blackheart vs. Toni Storm

5) RELEASED = Queen Zelina Vega / Natalya

Zelina Vega has more going for her right now than she's had in a long while, but I still think she'd be a better asset in AEW's women's division, rather than what's going to come about with this run in WWE.

When it comes to Natalya, it's simply a case where I'd rather see the other four pushed in this theoretical concept than The Queen of Harts. Sorry, Nattie!

4) JOBBER = Carmella / Shotzi Blackheart

Carmella is too comedic not to be a good jobber.

Shotzi, it sucks to have her in this spot, but the other three are just better suited to be higher up on the card right now.

3) MIDCARD = Liv Morgan / Toni Storm

Liv Morgan is a perpetual midcard act, it seems. Every time they try to push her, they give up after like 2 weeks. The other two are just more advanced and higher priorities in my mind, too.

Toni Storm is someone I'd want in the Main Event spot if the other two weren't on this list. I'm a huge fan of her and I think they're criminally underutilizing her.

2) UPPER MIDCARD = Bianca Belair / Shayna Baszler

Picking between Belair and Ripley was a toss-up. I want both to be at the top of the division. Since Belair had a better run in 2021 and Ripley's been screwed over a few times, I took pity on Rhea and gave her the top spot.

Under most circumstances, I'd have Main Event for The Queen of Spades. However, she's admittedly lost much of her mystique since going to Raw after losing in NXT. It can still be turned around, but it's just not as easy as putting her above Sasha Banks and saying it would happen with a finger snap.

1) MAIN EVENT = Rhea Ripley / Sasha Banks

See the previous answer for why Ripley is here. On top of that, she's the taller of the two, so that counts for something.

The Boss. Nuff said.

2021 MEN'S SURVIVOR SERIES ELIMINATION MATCH

TEAM RAW = Austin Theory vs. Bobby Lashley vs. Finn Balor vs. Kevin Owens vs. Seth Rollins
TEAM SMACKDOWN = Drew McIntyre vs. Happy Corbin vs. Jeff Hardy vs. King Xavier Woods vs. Sheamus

5) RELEASED = Finn Balor / Jeff Hardy

Out of everyone on this list, I know most people would go with Theory getting released, but I'm going with the idea that Balor would make a bigger splash in AEW after being let go. This isn't a slight to Balor with me saying he should be fired, as I don't think that's the case at all, but if he went elsewhere, I think he'd be better suited outside of WWE than the other four.

With Jeff Hardy, if WWE isn't going to push him as a main event player, what's the point? He's spent so much of his time in the past year or so just wrestling in random feuds and losing most of it. I'd rather see him reform The Hardy Boyz in AEW than to just hang around doing nothing in WWE.

4) JOBBER = Seth Rollins / Happy Corbin

Seth Rollins has had his time at the top, and I think on this list, I'd rather see him playing a more comedic jobber role than the others, if I had to pick.

Similarly, while I'm always one to advocate pushing Baron Corbin, I don't think the Happy Corbin character is something for the midcard or higher.

3) MIDCARD = Austin Theory / King Xavier Woods

Push Theory. Make him a star. But start where he's got room to grow.

Xavier Woods is awesome, but he's primarily a tag team guy. Compared to the others, I don't think I could justify putting him on the #1 or #2 spots, but I'd sure as hell love to see that happen in reality.

2) UPPER MIDCARD = Kevin Owens / Sheamus

How has KO been so consistently pushed to the sidelines? It's insane. This guy should have been a multi-time world champion and a fixture of the roster. For shame, WWE.

The Celtic Warrior has less days ahead of him than behind him, so I can't give him the top spot. However, I'd like to see him go out these next few years with a bang, rather than a whimper. Let's keep him strong, but put some others in a higher spot in relation to him.

1) MAIN EVENT = Bobby Lashley / Drew McIntyre

The All Mighty deserves this after the past year and a half. It was hard to put him over Owens, but I think it's the right call.

The Scottish Warrior is easily the main event guy from the fivesome of SmackDown's team.
