Women's Wrestling Weekly Recap & Review #359

Posted by Dallas Allsopp Monday, November 29, 2021

Welcome to another edition of WOMEN'S WRESTLING WEEKLY—a rundown of the events which have transpired in the world of women's professional wrestling over the past several days not just with the Superstars on WWE programming, but with Impact Wrestling's Knockouts, ROH's Women of Honor, and even a glimpse at the women on the independent circuit.

WWE Monday Night Raw

Bianca Belair vs Tamina

Rinse and repeat, this was exactly the same match we saw last week. It wasn’t good then, and it most certainly wasn’t any better this time around.

Winner: Bianca Belair

Rating: 1.5/5

Rhea Ripley & Nikki A.S.H. vs Zelina Vega & Carmella

Although seeing Zelina Vega and Carmella as WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions is not the worst decision in the world, this was a piss poor match to crown them. Additionally, this was further proof that the proverbial ball was well and truly dropped by pairing Rhea Ripley up with Nikki A.S.H. after WrestleMania.

Winner: Zelina Vega & Carmella

Rating: 2/5

AEW Dark: Elevation

Tay Conti & Anna Jay vs Willow Nightmare & Erica Leigh

Squash City!

Winner: Tay Conti & Anna Jay

Rating: 2/5

The Bunny, Penelope Ford, & Emi Sakura vs Kris Statlander, Ryo Mizunami, & Leyla Hirsch

Unfortunately, this was a bland and by the numbers Elevation trios match.

Winner: Kris Statlander, Ryo Mizunami, & Leyla Hirsch

Rating: 2/5

Riho vs Trish Adora

Squash City!

Winner: Riho

Rating: 2/5

WWE NXT 2.0

Kacy Catanzaro & Kayden Carter vs Indi Hartwell & Persia Pirotta

Meh. Nothing about this contest was at all memorable.

Winner: Kacy Catanzaro & Kayden Carter

Rating: 1.5/5

Mandy Rose vs Cora Jade

Cora Jade may have only won because Kay Lee Ray distracted Mandy Rose, but that finish benefitted no-one at all. Rose should be the one to take advantage of such situations, as opposed to being the victim.

Winner: Cora Jade

Rating: 2/5

Ivy Nile vs Yulisa Leon

Squash City!

Winner: Ivy Nile

Rating: 2/5

AEW Dark

Riho vs Karma Dean

Squash City!

Winner: Riho

Rating: 2/5

Kiera Hogan vs Notorious Mimi

Squash City!

Winner: Kiera Hogan

Rating: 2/5

Emi Sakura vs Valentina Rossi

Squash City!

Winner: Emi Sakura

Rating: 2/5

AEW Wednesday Night Dynamite

Thunder Rosa vs Jamie Hayter

I don’t mean to be a Hayter (see what I did there), but she is awful in the ring, and brought Thunder Rosa down in this match. This didn’t need to be on Dynamite at all!

Winner: Thunder Rosa

Rating: 1.5/5

Impact Wrestling

There were no Knockout's matches this week.

WWE NXT UK

Isla Dawn vs Aleah James

Squash City!

Winner: Isla Dawn

Rating: 2/5

Jinny vs Angel Hayze

Squash City!

Winner: Jinny

Rating: 2/5

WWE Friday Night SmackDown

Sasha Banks & Naomi vs Shayna Baszler & Natalya

More bullshit from the land of Sonya Deville. This was not a fun athletic contest at all!

Winner: Sasha Banks & Naomi

Rating: 1.5/5

AEW Rampage

Britt Baker vs Riho

I expected a thrilling match here, but both women failed to get out of second gear. Riho managed to cap a strong week by earning a future shot at the AEW Women's World Championship, albeit it without making a true impression on The Doctor, Britt Baker.

Winner: Riho

Rating: 2.5/5

MATCH OF THE WEEK:

Britt Baker vs Riho

This was truly the best of a bad bunch this week.

WOMAN OF THE WEEK:

Charlotte Flair

Surprisingly, or rather, unsurprisingly, she bested Toni Storm in style. This completely invalidated her loss to Becky Lynch at Survivor Series.

So there you have it, the breakdown for the week in women's wrestling. What were some of your favorite and least favorite moments from these women? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
