As expected when the 2021 WWE Draft sent Charlotte Flair with the Raw Women's Championship and Becky Lynch with the SmackDown Women's Championship over to the opposite brands, both Superstars have swapped titles to make sure the right belt is on the right brand. It isn't certain yet if WWE is considering this a new title reign for each and adding an extra belt to Flair's numbers, but that's most likely the case, as that's what happened last year to The Street Profits and The New Day.
My immediate reaction: I wish this wasn't the case and WWE could have planned some other means to have the right titles on the correct brands. I understand that ultimately, it doesn't matter, and it's just a swap for the sake of the belt name and color scheme, but it does sort of cheapen things to just act like "it doesn't matter, so shut up and move on" all the time. It's far, FAR from something to complain too much about, but in an ideal world, maybe two other people are champion so it's an easier draft situation, or that there's a better way to do it that doesn't involve just playing switcharoo.
Since this happened, be sure to check out the updated full list of title changes for this year and the list of current champions and my predictions for who will take the belts away from them.
